It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.

Cora (Deborah Kara Unger) barely escapes a mysterious force. Her nieces Sarah (Stephanie Hunt), Marley (Sarah Dugdale), and Emma (Alisha Newton) arrive on Shelter Island to stay with her. The sisters are out of money after the death of their parents and the treatment for the traumatized Emma. Seth (Richard Harmon) follows them. They run out of gas and find a dying Aunt Cora in her crashed car. They rescue a heavily injured woman who tells them that the killings would continue until the end of Halloween.Deborah Kara Unger is probably the only recognizable name and she gets killed off right away. The production is lower level. Harmon has great creepiness. The girls are functional actors. The cast could work but there isn't much style to the horror directing. The CG is lesser TV level. The creature design is pretty good but it should only come out during the night. It looks cheap in daylight. This is a lesser TV horror.

I honestly felt I could bare with the bad storyline, script, illogicalness, cliché, ridiculous use of supposed-fear-inducing background music, and of course the usual scream-but-never-run dumbness that's prevalent in typical American horror (teen) flicks (with the exception of Conjuring 2). I honestly think I could still rate it a 4 or 5 for the set, camera angles, and evil creature. The characters acting wasn't terrible, although wasn't outstanding either. But most of them speaking painfully slow and inexpressively really kill me over multiple times!!! I'm not sure why nobody seemed bothered by it. haha! It was what made me rate it at only a 2! Very poor casting and directing.I must say Sarah has the worst voice and speech - annoyingly lazy and weak even in adrenaline pumping situation that I'd wish her character being killed off in the first 2 minutes if she didn't try hard to take care of her 2 dumb sisters.Marley was the most annoying, whiny one, who only complained and made demands of all things she thought she deserved or knew better. That's right, she just did everything with her mouth, yakking and screaming, and learnt only to shut up in the last 15 minutes or so. I thought she had overdone the portrayal of an angry, frustrated sister. I sincerely wished to b*tch slap her the moment she started talking.Emma was the self-pity, victim playing sister who did meaningless things all the time only had herself to blame for getting everyone around her killed (or sacrificed), over nothing. The film tried too hard to make the audience jump throughout by sounds or sudden appearance of things, even when they made no sense. The ending was yet another unexplained illogical plot.

Great short film. I liked it. I could picture myself in that situ Would be better as a television series or full big $ production butall in all. Good acting. Good movie just rushed Taking more time and exposure to the characters would be enormously better for the filmwicker man or alien? I love the catch phrase " The storm bought something with it"A must see.I think most would enjoyX-Files or such like experience. Not bad at all So nice to see so.many horror science fiction movies being released and seen in the same year

It's the day before Halloween on Shelter Island, and the small town is preparing for a major storm. But the dark clouds covering the island are bringing with them a curse one-hundred years in waiting. As the woods give birth to an ungodly and insatiable creature of fire, bones, and earth, three sisters struggle to stay alive through the long dark night of the Hollow. The creature isn't something that can be killed, It's only something you survive......It's a wonderful concept, having something reappear every number of years to hunt, kill, and feed, for an amount of time, and then for it to vanish until the next cycle........yep, Jeepers Creepers was a fun creature movie that lost it a little toward the end.The Hollow on the other hand, never really gets anything to lose in the first place. It's the age old story of teenage misfits, meeting up with other teens, all devoid of common sense, and spend the most dangerous night of their lives shouting, screaming, and hiding in the most ridiculous places. The creature they are trying to avoid looks like something that's lost its way travelling back to Middle Earth, and despite being a huge, hulking piece of timber, it can sneak up on someone quieter and fast than Michael Dudikoff did back in the eighties. What could have been, what SHOULD have been, an over the top exploitation stalk n' slash movie with humour, turns into nothing more than unlikable teens being killed because they do stuff like lock the beast in a room, and stay in the room with them.......and that actually happens. And then it all ends with the creature vanishing into thin air, and a look of bemusement on the remaining survivor..............and the audience.Don't bother.
