The Way He Looks (2014)

It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

This is a very sweet film. I certainly enjoyed it. I found myself googling to see if Ghilherme Lobo, who plays Leo, is actually blind himself. I don't think he is but he was very convincing.As well as the drama between the two main characters in the film, Leo and Gabriel (Fabio Audi) there is also powerful drama in the relations that Leo has with his parents and of course the problems faced by his being blind but having to make his way in the sighted world.The portrayal of the lower middle-class society that the drama is set in is also really first class.The film is nicely directed, scripted etc. I think just about anyone will enjoy this film.

Even though the main theme of the movie is a blossoming gay love story, I believe the movie will appeal to the general audience as a sweet coming of age story, with wonderful messages even us adults can pick up.Its always tricky I believe to make a movie with somewhat adult content involving teens, and this movie managed to do it so beautifully. Its definitely a feel good movie to go too when you just had a bad day.Big and loud applause for Daniel Ribeiro for his wonderful writing and directing, and also to the young cast who made the movie become so believable. I personally like to thank who ever green-lighted this movie from a simple short presentation "I don't Want to Go Back Alone" becoming this wonderful movie.Looking forward to further works of Mr. Ribeiro and the talented casts.

This film is the film I wish a 16 year old me had seen. The movie is a love story full of hope and romance. The direction is superb! You will find yourself riding the roller coaster of emotions. The innocence and rawness of the film makes you remember your first kiss and first time falling in love. Ghilherme Lobo's emotions as Leonardo showcases his skill. He is a really good actor. Daniel Ribeiro has made one of the best young love stories on film that I have ever seen. I am glad I ran across this film. I think it is universal in emotion and feeling. Even made me check out the short film that Daniel Ribeiro originally made. It is pretty good as well.

I'm so impressed that this film is very different to the other romantic gay movies I've seen as it brings awareness of having a disability. Ghilherme Lobo suit the role as playing a blind person. His character is lucky to have Gabriel as his boyfriend and his wimpy best friend Giovanna by his side.I was cheesed off with those fellas bullying him just because he is blind and has a noisy tying machine in the classroom. No wonder his parents were overprotective of him planning to do studying abroad because pretty much it's a dangerous world out there lemme tell you! I hope himself and Gabriel live together, get married and have kiddies. They are such a totally cute couple!I wish this movie was longer seriously!
