Kept Woman (2015)

one of my absolute favorites!

Best movie of this year hands down!

It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,

Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.

There have been quite a few locked in the basement abductions and kidnappings with Ariel Castro in the news. This is an obvious fictional but neat and slightly glossy version that works well in a TV movie.A young couple Courtney Ford and Andrew Walker flee the city after a break in and move to a suburb. Their neatly dressed, pleasant but slightly eccentric looking neighbor is well played by Shaun Benson. When he decides to keep her in the basement where there is a prettily set up home and another woman, the creepiness is quite well done. Things are kept plausible enough even if the basement is a little too attractive and efficiently done.Lesson: Sometimes the City is safer than the burbs.

***SPOILERS*** Coming home one night after seeing a play Evan & Jessica Crowder, Andrew W. Walker & Courtney Ford, find their apartment broken into and end up getting ripped off-at gunpoint- of all their valuables including Jessica's engagement ring by the friendly neighbor crack-head Matt Enos looking for his latest fix. Determined to start a new life in the, so they think, crime free suburbs the two get into hock by buying a house in Monroe County even if it cost more then they can afford. It's then that the Crowder's next door neighbor collage professor Simon,Shaun Benson, starts snooping around their home and trying to get friendly with them.It soon turns out that after Simon saw Jessica tossing a salad while chit chatting with her husband Evan a light went out on in his head to both kidnap and make her his personal sex slave. It didn't take long for Simon to get Jessica under his control by first kidnapping her and then locking her in his sound as well as bomb proof bunker under his house to do whatever that his sick mind wan't to do with the helpless woman. It also turns out that Simon has another sex slave hidden in his bunker the Mooonie and brain dead like Robin Simmons, Rachael Wilson, who's been trapped there for the last four years! ***SPOILERS*** As it turned out Simon had no idea what two women under one roof can cause with them fighting, at least Robin, over his affections towards them which ends up with Bobbie getting the far worst of it! That with Simon slashing her throat when she tries to get him to do the same to Jessica whom he now, feeling that Robin is damaged goods, makes his main and only squeeze! It's in the end that Simon who by now has gone completely out of his mind who lets his guard down and gets clobbered by Jessica when her husband, who thought she ran out on him, Evan finally put two and two together and confronted the crazy as a mad hatter Simon in his bunker. Now behind bars and facing a bleak future Simon gets a visit from Jessica in prison with her new published book "Kept Woman" so he can spend his time reading about his exploit and seeing just how crazy he was back then and, from the looks of him, still is.

very poor credibility, and bad acting by lead female.credibility: a woman goes into a house of her neighbor who she has suspicions about.her fiancée should have immediately been suspecting foul play by, among other things, the fact that she left he cell phone back.the police should have been more suspicious of her neighbor.I thought she did a horrible acting job, at least when she was first there, as she did not seem nearly as distraught as she should be at the potential of her horrifying fate.it was an intriguing story and did have its moments.

Directly below is a partial quote taken from the description of this movie: ...'finds comfort with a man trapped in a modern day society after being left behind in a botched time traveling experiment from the 1950'...This is NOT what this movie is about AT ALL!!!!! She does NOT find comfort!!!! She is stalked and kidnapped!!!!! 'left behind from a botched time traveling experiment' NOT TRUE AT ALL. There is nothing in this movie re: time travel botched or otherwise!!!!! (just because the protagonist had a containment room decorated in the style of a previous decade does not make it 'time travel')I wondered why this movie was labelled as a Drama if it involved time travel I thought there should also be the label of Fantasy. BUT...There is no time travel. AND....If she was truly finding comfort then yes, maybe label as drama......HOWEVER....as mentioned previously she was not finding comfort...she was kidnapped by a serial killer.... HENCE....this is nothing more than a Horror film and should be labelled as such with a proper description as the whole description on this site is nothing more than a mishmash of words that mean nothing at all.It is almost as if someone was confused and copied and pasted a movie's description on to this movie and it actually belonged to another film.All that aside. On top of being angry as all get out when watching this, waiting for things that never happened.....it is a cheaply made, all round bad movie....not worth watching at all.*****It was brought to my attention after 5 days of posting this review the movie's description was changed.
