What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

A Toxic piece of cinema malpractice which essential gas-iights abuse victims. Other valuable lessons: 1. Small town people are stupid, shallow, and clueless; The'll accept and go along with anything however vile that gives a hint of authority (Bullies can inspire in that way) 2. The typical big success circuit is utterly phony and populated with evil, mean, angry, and greedy failed individuals. 3. Victims of abuse are deluded losers who probably deserve it. The abuse made the good people even better. 4. Mothers are to be worshipped no matter how blind, manipulative, and enabling they are 5. No one can be told the actual truth: "I was abused" 6. To win embrace your inner hatred 7. Toughness is the highest value 8. Your book sucks, you're a phony, come back to corn-land where real people live. I wanted to rinse by brain in mouthwash. Disgusting.

what a great movie, the crude sexual innuendo, all of the adult gags, if you didn't like this you are dead inside. Sean William Scott , Susan Sarandon, and Billy Bob Thorton, excellent pairing,, our story is about a boy who had a horrible gym teacher,, always picking on him,, throwing the ball at him,, and stuff, so flash forward 20 or so years in time,, and our main character moves in with his mom, and who does he find dating his dear old mom. you guessed it ... the evil Mr. Woodcock ,, the gym teacher,, he spends the whole movie, trying to convince his mother that the gym teacher is no good,, he tries breaking them up several different ways, but all for not,, it appears that he is stuck with the evil gym teacher for life.. what a great funny movie,, everything was just perfect,, I couldn't stop laughing from start to finish,,

In truthfulness, my rating is actually more like 6.5 stars, but the site forces you to do whole numbers. I don't watch too many comedies these days, but I thought this one was pretty well done. Somewhat predictable, but well acted. Also appreciated the fact that not every joke was about sex. Susan Sarandon is lovely and B-Bob does a solid job as does the rest of the cast. I was surprised by this since the movie poster and title seem to imply an "American Pie"-type story line with a couple of 40+ yr. old stars in leading roles, but it was pleasantly more mature than American Pie and, in my honest opinion, way funnier. By today's standards it's a fairly clean movie although I wouldn't exactly recommend watching it as a family,

This film is about a successful self-help writer who goes home and find out that his mother is now dating the horrible basketball coach who haunted him years ago."Mr Woodcock" is a comedy that sees two men battling with each other constantly. Billy Bob Thornton seems callous and malicious; yet he charms people in the film. This irony makes him a very interesting character. Seann William Scott is unable to shake off the loser image in front of Billy Bob Thornton, which results in hilarious situations. The rivalry between the two is entertaining and lighthearted, I enjoyed watching "Mr Woodcock" a lot!
