In Hell (2003)

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

Blistering performances.

In Hell has a very simple plot and incredibly poorly written script. The Acting is too bad that you can't continue watching. The camera angles, visuals, editing everything related to cinematography is very wrong or primitive.

OK so whoever referred to this as a B movie is delusional. A 'D' movie is more like it. The first 47 minutes of the movie literally had no action save the skinny American kid (who came to the prison wearing a T shirt with the American flag on it) getting raped every night. It was just VanDamme moping around the prison mourning his wife.Almost 50 minutes into the movie the prisoners come across a land mind and a prison jeep gets blown to smithereens. Then Vandamme quits moping, does push-ups and pull ups in his cell and becomes the champion fighter in the prison.Typical low budget Vandamme movie but not one of his best.

IN HELL has an extremely familiar plot. Man has girlfriend/wife murdered/raped, the law fails him, he kills the murderer/rapist and is thrown into a jail full of sodomites, sadists and thugs, all presided over by evil prison guards.The acting is extremely unconvincing, especially that of the other American who turns up in prison. The script is predictable beyond belief. JCVD actually begins the film by promising his wife, who wants to go back home to the USA, that not only will they do that but that he has also booked them a holiday. Her prompt rape and murder by a greasy looking foreigner was practically inevitable after that.The film is clearly trying to be a little bit more than another exploitation flick made in Eastern Europe, throwing in a few psychological elements and one or two interesting shots. Clearly someone felt they could do more than make another JCVD film. Sadly they failed and the film is the usual mix of brutal violence, cliché and poor acting. No matter how much fast editing they do, it can't disguise the paucity of quality on display.

This has got to be one of most underrated movie ever, I know Vam dam has made some really bad movies but this movie his is best.If your fan of prison movies you should check this movie out.Movies start Kyle LeBlanc is talking wife from car only hears screams from other side when his wife is attacked, he tracks down the killer at bus and they both start fighting until the cops come arrest Kyle.Then court lets killer lose and Kyle get the cops gun and shoots killer there and then and his sent to prison.The prison warden forces the prisoners into bloody or even deadly fights between the inmates.There is lot of great fights scenes with a lot of blood in this movie,there are very nasty scenes in this movie that will make you what to turn your head around for second.Acting is this movie was outstanding from Van Dam This has got to be one of the best Prison movies movies ever 8/10
