Jacob, a young man armed with a deadly sword, saves Sarah, a teenage girl, from Mathias, a malevolent evil that has begun plaguing a small farmland town while in search of an ancient necklace that had belonged to Sarah's uncle. Jacob sets out to get Sarah home safely, running through streets, fields, churches and underground tunnels, while being pursued by hordes of demonic creatures. Along the way, both come to terms with the demons within themselves - Sarah begins to understand her hatred towards her mother and sister may be unjustified and Jacob discovers the secrets of his past, realizing the only way to truly defeat the demons is to return to the very place his family was murdered.

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

I just watched this on Netflix. Despite all the negative reviews, I understood what this film was trying to do. It just simply didn't have the budget for the grand-scale it was trying to achieve. Some of the acting wasn't there and the fx were just okay while other parts were killer, but I thought the story was very entertaining. If this movie had been given a real budget with decent actors, it would have been great. I consider it a step above the typical sci-fi channel stuff you see out there. I also thought it was a fresh approach to the typical zombie film. This isn't going to be an award winner but its certainly a fun film to relax to on the weekend.

Right what would you get if you had a £10 budget, rubbish CGI people, people that have never stepped foot in an acting class, a director out of there senses and production who are apparently drunk? The simple answer is this film. No one can give me back the time this film has robbed me of. It is certainly the worst film i have ever watched, and i have watched many. I love films from many different genres, but I'm always up for anything with action, occult and horror references. This film however bobbles all over the place, between really awful acting, terrible effects and a rambling strange and often incomprehensible story. People will say this is a B movie but really it can't even merit that! the characters are so wooden i think they came pre varnished. All you are really left with is sitting there thinking, how the hell did i fall into the trap of paying to watch that? Trust me don't pay to watch it, don't even watch it when its available for free, there are many more worth while things to do with your time like counting dust particles or individually plucking the hairs from your toes!

The pacing of this film is the most dynamic engagement of theatrical action I have seen in quite some time. One of the main questions that had come to mind when I watched this with a few friends was the origins of the naming from the characters. We were curious about any biblical terminology that could have been potentially associated with the names Jacob and Sarah. Not to mention the whole scenario of Jacob being brought back from the dead, or rather "resurrected." Then there is the concept of having a sword that hones the almighty power of good and destroys all evil that it faces. There is a complex turn in the character mythology as the dichotomy of Jacob and Mathias is revealed by one of the strongest components of the storyline, as Jacob turns evil as the movie closes, leaving a cliffhanger of what could potentially spawn a dramatic context change if they make any sequels. It was a brave choice for Jordan Matthews to take on a role where he turns evil at the end, going toe to toe with one of the masters of evil, Brad Dourif, the voice of Chucky. I was surprised to see Thomas Ian Nicholas take on a role completely separate from his work in the comedy genre as well. It reminded me of when I begin to greatly respect his work in movies like Rules Of Attraction

It took me a few minutes to contemplate the film I just watched. But after a short while, I came to the conclusion this movie was decently entertaining. I thought the characters were kind of interesting although a little rushed. The movie starts right in with the action and slows down shortly in the middle only to really pick up at the last third of the film. I did like how there has been nothing quite like this that I've seen before.I don't think that there will be enough blood for the die-hard romero gore fans. For the Twi-hards, there isn't enough romance. Fpr the heavy film buffs and critics, the acting isn't quite there. For those into special computer effects, they aren't bad but nothing groundbreaking that I haven't seen before, although I really liked the masked guy turning into crows. So why did I give this a 7 rating? I enjoyed it because I wasn't expecting a romance or a bloody horror. I got an entertaining action fantasy which led to a satisfying ending. It was very fast and gave me a fun experience. But what really impressed me is that they were able to do so much for an independent film.I recommend you watch it and draw your own conclusions. The largest issue for some I think may be that this film crosses so many genres. So depending on what your expectations are will determine how you feel. I really didn't go in expecting much and was pleasantly entertained.
