The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

From the makers of the feeble Disaster Movie and Epic Movie comes Vampires Suck that spoofs the Twilight saga and is a step up from Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer's previous efforts.Becca Crane (Jenn Proske) shows up in a gloomy town to live with her overly protective sheriff father Frank (Diedrich Bader). At her new high school, Becca is torn between two guys, the brooding ashen faced Edward Sullen (Matt Lanter) who is a vampire, and hairy handed Jacob White (Chris Riggi) who seems to be a shaggy werewolf. What the movie gets right is following the template closely of Twilight and New Moon with the actors Lanter, Proske and Riggi channelling their original counterparts closely. Lanter's Edward really looks spooky close to Robert Pattinson. The set design and atmosphere again makes you think that the directors have put an effort in getting the look right before sending up the films. What lets it down are the scatter-gun jokes and sight gags with random pop culture jokes which ages the film quickly and you might not even understand them if you live outside of the USA. The jokes are thrown about in the hope the audience might find some of them funny. The Jacob dog jokes are mildly amusing such as him suddenly chasing cats and urinating on a fire hydrant but many of the gags miss their mark. The Airplane and The Naked Gun films established the benchmark for parody films and they have also shown that they are not easy to replicate. In that regard Vampires do suck.

Twilight and its sequels are a crime against literature, film, humanity in general so when I saw that the series was getting this treatment I was overjoyed. I knew some people who were self-confessed twi-hards (they've since developed brain cells and grown out of it) and they were ANGRY at this film so I knew it must be giving the series hell.Twilight is so sickeningly bad that if it weren't to be taken seriously it could pass as comedy. It effectively killed vampires, werewolves, teenage fiction and the fantasy genre for the best part of a decade and so it deserved to be mocked in every way possible and this movie manages this with success. From the unlikeable protagonist with one face to the gay werewolves, from the irritating fangirls to the incoherent plots, from the unnecessary cast changes to the franchise that seemingly just WOULD NOT DIE, everything wrong with the series is tackled head-on from the start. And so it should be: Anyone who insults the series is worthy of praise. Sure, there's the OTT sexual jokes, the unsubtle innuendos, the occasional racial undertone but this is the spoof genre and is to be expected.Twi-hards (if there are any left who haven't grown a brain and moved on to the far superior Hunger Games) will be insulted but they deserve it for liking that filth. Anything that punishes Twilight is excellent in my book and this movie is perfect for that.

Vampires Suck is not a very good spoof at all is practically the same as watching Twilight with worse acting and dumb fart jokes. In terms of recent spoofs, this film may be a little better than those unfunny Meet the Spartans and Disaster Movie, but that's not saying much. The only joke I really liked here is when the one girl said that the movie would bomb, but camera pans up to saying Twilight Breaking Dawn part 1.Friedberg and Seltzer has to making these films because they're stupid and not funny. They need to make something like the Scary Movies series. This film basically has the same plot as Twilight with the exception of a few lame name changes. The acting is pretty awful. Except for the main girl who actually captures Bella's essence, everyone else was just painfully awful.Overall, this is a pitiful excuse for a movie and this should have never been made. It's bad that people lose all our IQ by watching films like this. I don't mind spoofs but they have to be good quality. I'm not the one to trash on movies but on films like these, I will. I rate this hideous film a 3/10.

Twilight was one of the most annoying franchises of the last decade, and certainly ripe for parody. Unfortunately, most of its parodies are shallow "comedies" that reference certain scenes, and then insert flatulence jokes and uninspired slapstick in them. That's Vampires Suck (2010) in a nutshell.Random is the word of the day here. Random musical numbers, random celebrities popping up out of nowhere, random fights, random references to other bits of popular culture that have nothing to do with Twilight or vampires. I understand most people think random equals funny, but guess what? It doesn't. It just makes for a boring, frustrating mess of a movie.
