The movie runs out of plot and jokes well before the end of a two-hour running time, long for a light comedy.

The Bounty Hunter is the reason some people don't like romantic comedies. It stars two good-looking people (although Gerard Butler is in the midst of his grunge phase) to lure lots of people from their homes during opening weekend. Once seated in the movie theaters, it would be best for the audience to glaze over and focus on the eye candy rather than the plot.I know that sounded a little harsh, and when compared to other movies each of the stars has made, The Bounty Hunter really isn't that bad. It just isn't great, and given the box office appeal both Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston had at the time, I think everyone expected a little more from their first and only Hollywood pairing. They play ex-spouses, one of which is a bounty hunter and the other is, well, hunted. If you don't mind sitting through a pretty silly romantic comedy with just as little humor as there is romance, go ahead and rent it. It's not a movie you'll walk out of, but you'll probably shrug your shoulders at the end of it and sigh, "Oh well."

Jennifer Aniston movie career is very hit and miss to say the least, for every "Horrible Bosses" or "We're The Millers" there is a "The Switch" or "Management".Plot In A Paragraph: Reporter Nicole Hurley (Jennifer Aniston) skips bail to follow a hot lead. Her ex husband Milo Boyd (Gerrard Butler) is given the dream job of chasing down his ex wife. Sadly this is the latter, ridiculously predictable, with two leads who have little chemistry (despite rumours of an alleged off screen romance) and few jokes, this is not the fun romp I was expecting. Butler does OK, but the stars of the show are Jason Sudeikis (as a sleazy co worker of Aniston) and Christine Baranski (as Aniston's mother Kitty) who steal every scene they are in, and quite frankly the movie is poorer when they are not on screen. I'll admit from the off, that I am bias when it comes to Aniston. I love her. With her gorgeous girl next door looks, I adore her, and will usually give anything she is in a chance. she remains one of the most talented and beautiful women in movies, and her ladylike sexiness is in rare supply. Any movie becomes promising just by having her name in it's cast. But she needs to pick her projects better than this.

I don't understand why reviewers hated so much this film. It's a typical romantic comedy, with a little action, and an okay investigation part. I don't say it's an exceptionally good mix of these things, but still a really enjoyable one. The plot isn't very original, generally it's a witty love story of two people who used to love each other very much, but now can't stand each other. Actually it has some similarities with the earlier Jennifer Aniston movie 'The Break-up' just it's much better. The jokes are funnier, the plot doesn't consist the drama which isn't needed in a romantic comedy, and the chemistry between Aniston and Butler is far-far better. I think some people may expected more from this movie than this actually is. If you look for an easy to enjoy comedy, and not the finest of the movie history, it's a good choice for you. If you like good, not chick-flick type romantic comedies, try it, and I promise you won't be disappointed.

I waited for this movie to be shown on TV, since it had bad reviews and I was not expecting much out it. Turned out, that was exactly the case. As a romantic comedy (ex-spouses rekindling their flame) it fell flat, as a detective story (corruption within the police department) is pathetic and totally non-thrilling.Aniston and Butler are very likable actors, so I was hoping at least to get some on screen chemistry. Unfortunately, even that was missing. With due respect for Aniston wonderful body, I think she starts to get a bit old to play Rachel all over again, every time she is in a movie. She made many comedies, but her character is virtually always the same. It was funny and endearing in her late twenties and early thirties. It starts to be embarrassing in her forties - still dizzy and immature after all these years? Butler was very effective in "300", although his next movies were not so convincing. However, I hope he will find his way, which certainly is not romantic lead.
