Best movie ever!
The first must-see film of the year.
Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
There was way more language than listed under the parents guide. I was disappointed in that as my daughter had friends over. I wish I could update that section.
Find this to be a unusual middle of the road movie most of these type of movies either are 1-2 or 9-10 cant recall another of these that i found to be middle of the road 5ish or in this case just below middle. Its perfectly watchable there are so much worse then this out there and so much better.
I really didn't have the highest of hopes when turning this film on while the rain poured outside. BUT I was more than pleasantly surprised by the ease with which the action-packed film zipped along. Yes, it is a story of a 'loner' in search of his place in the universe (he is an alien in the US), but that internal conflict carries the story aloft with good acting (not played for Flash Gordon camp). Timothy Olyphant is a scene steal-er and a fine actor...and the younger performers are quite relaxed as they confront sci-fi trickeries at every corner.A big smile occurred with the reappearance, at the end (not really a spoiler). Don't avoid this film...it will give you a couple of enjoyable hours...and, yes, i do kinda hope that the series continues...I still want to know about the BOX!!
and Timothy Olyphant. a film who has the save sin and virtue - it is far to be original. it is a virtue because it is not fair to criticize it for the use of a lot of clichés who are basic ingredients in the films for teenagers. it is its basic sin because the expectation of public must be respected. but "I am number five" is the same mix of ambiguous bad boys, noble mission, love story, the super hero in high school and his dramatic love story. sounds well known, did it? so, all is reduced at the new meet with Pettyfer and Olyphant, few special effects, the secret and the run. is it enough ? maybe, because, after the first impressions, it remains a decent Sci. Fi/ youth literature adaptation .
