A Disappointing Continuation

One vote is far too much for this idealistic piece of sugar laden propaganda. It acts like all you have to do is commit to and follow Jesus, and everything will work out just hunky dory. Lies!I used to be a Christian, and walked away from the church because I got sick of being walked all over because "that's what the bible says to do". I hate the guilt trip that Caleb's father levels on him when he asks him why he is so frustrated with Catherine. Caleb has ever right to be upset with Catherine, yet Caleb's father turns the accusatory finger on him. Those two should have gotten a divorce, then Catherine could have wound up with that lowlife cheating doctor, and Caleb could have bought his dream boat instead of sacrificing it for his invalid mother-in-law.This is a movie on why not to be a Christian, and avoid getting bamboozled by some ridiculous guilt trip.

Great movie. Touches on real issues that couples face in marriage. Ideal film for couples. There wouldn't be many Christian films I'd even give 1 star, but I have to say, this gets top marks. I have to say that the film director did the best for his budget. Christian movies often don't get a large budget as they are often produced by small companies that have no competition against the likes of Universal Pictures, Warner brothers, Sony, and Walt Disney. When these companies do make a film with a 'religous" theme, it is often so watered down.I think the plot of the movie was well thought out. All the characters in the movie are well built up. There is intense drama in the movie when someone is being rescued, and also a good bit of humour built into the movie. All Christians ready to be challenged should watch this movie.

I watched this mainly for the laughs of a terrible movie. I did get that. But I'd like to point out a glaring hole in the plot. The plot is basically this - Kirk has to find Jesus to get his marriage back together. Well, Kirk finds Jesus, but more importantly he decides to stop being a bad husband. Kirk's wife responds very well to him being a better husband. However, Kirk's connection with faith doesn't really help fix anything in the marriage, but we are told time and time again that it is. If the whole discovered faith plot were removed from this movie, the resolution to the conflict would still make sense. All Kirk had to do was quit being a jerk. Finding God didn't help him with this. And this movie spends a lot of time on finding God. It's bad writing.

Fireproof is a Christian film about Caleb (Kirk Cameron) who realizes that he's been failing as a husband to his wife, and through faith try's to fix and mend his marriage that is currently on the rocks. OK, first of all, the acting was not that great, personally Kirk Cameron did not impress me playing the role of Caleb. I would've rather seen someone else starring in the film. This film did have some perilous action sequences, him being a firemen, thus Fireproof, and those shots were actually done pretty well. The actress that played his wife was pretty good in her role, better than Cameron, I thought. The plot was sweet and nice at times, there were a few moments where the drama felt cheesy and cliché, and I really hate when films do that, so I wish they would've tryed to steer clear of that. Overall, not great, but not too bad either: 5/10
