This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

There is always same kind of feeling about the movies based upon King's novels. They are intriguing, and makes you wonder throughout the entire movie. Also, details of the everyday life, some common aspects our lives were put very will in King's books as well as to movies in a highly creative way that it is highly unlikely to not to surprise even though what you are observing is pretty simple and a familiar occurrence. It's all because of King's imaginative, creative way of thinking solid and simple. You're going to witness here how a peaceful dog turns out to be something else, but the general atmosphere and the harmony of everything is worth your attention.

a good adaptation. a classic horror. a not comfortable hypotheses. short, a decent film. because it is more profound and superficial than you expect. superficial because the past of Cujo before the evil is only a sketch. sure, the fight for survive of woman and her son is important but it represents only the top of the iceberg. profound because the lead theme is not exactly a rabid Saint Bernard but family crisis. this is the axis and the attack of dog - only the element who gives clear perception about it. not the scenes of attacks are powerful but the idea itself of a giant animal, peaceful, lovely, nice, the perfect buddy for children, defined by the image of the funny Beethoven for many members of new generation and a cruel monster covered by blood . so, a decent film.

This was solid and unexpectedly fulfilling--perhaps because I'm a cat enthusiast and am neutral towards dogs to begin with. My 13-year-old son and I enjoyed it very much. I haven't read the book yet, so it's unnecessary for enjoyment of the movie IMHO. Worth both a purchase and rewatching for genre aficionados. So far, I'm neither much of a fan of Teague (I had only previously watched 'The Jewel of the Nile', and it was decent) nor of Stephen King (he's written some great works for horror, but he's written a lot of dreck and is criminally overrated), but I was really pleasantly surprised by it--and even though it was made in the 80's, it's neither cheesy nor dated; it still holds up very well IMHO.
