Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Clever and entertaining enough to recommend even to members of the 1%
It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
These Blair Witch type movies are so over done that I'd give the movie a zero for creativity except that they're done from a Point of View from the google glasses so the main protagonist is sometimes viewed in the movie when the glasses are worn by someone else ( like during a naughty bathroom break) or placed on a nearby table so I do give some points for that. Acting was terrible, storyline cramed every horror troupe imaginable and couldn't the main protagonist even cry convincingly? Could have been a good movie, which was shot on location, but story had gaps and was unclear in some places. As with all POV movies you have to pay attention to visual cues since they don't have the same continuity other films do. It just relied too much on the beautiful scenery and pretty girls to get it done. This movie just made my brain hurt.
It has been a year since the death of Sarah Pullman's (Danielle Jadelyn) brother( Steven Hilder). To help her get over it, dad (Howard Rypp ) pays for a trip for her and her better looking BFF Rachel Klein (Yael Grobglas) to travel to Israel. On the plane they meet Kevin Reed (Yon Tumarkin) a young "Indian Jones" whose interest is religious lore on ancient zombies. They go to Jerusalem and not since World War Z has Jerusalem been annoyed by so many zombies. The difference is that these are Nephilm and dark angels with wings. The premise was okay. Instead of the hand held camera we have graduated to Google glass or something similar. This has facial recognition and we know exactly where that was going. It also has GPS map etc. It didn't prevent the stupid ground cam or shoe cam. The jerking was less, but was still there. We added random cute cat films. The film opens with a film and narration by a guy with an accent, which didn't make it seem any more real.As always, would have been better with a real camera.Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity (Danielle Jadelyn or body double)
As a film, the initial 45 minutes or so was passable, it was OK and plot was on some level building. After that however it all fell to pieces. The dialogue was brutal at times, the protagonist with her Google Glass was constantly whining for her compadres to 'wait up', she was just always lagging behind. Decent concept for a film, wasted by this first person perspective and the usual awful dialogue in these films. And now to fill this thing up to the required 10 lines we have a sequel to 'look forward' to some time next year. I will say that the Old City of Jerusalem looks stunning, a truly beautiful ancient city. One more line is required...The best thing about this film was the backdrop.
This movie gets too much bad reviews so I want to counter it with my review... this is a great horror movie, decently build up, good special effects (those winged creatures are creepy as hell) and the acting wasn't too bad either. Jerusalem is a great setting for a movie about resurrection and judgement day, with three of the main religions being together in that single city. A few little mistakes and a few predictable twists but apart from that, it's a movie to enjoy in a dark room... Cloverfield-style! I wasn't sure about this title but now I'm sure to add it to my collection because of the frightening moments. 8/10 so watch this one!
