This was a pretty good romantic movie with nothing new in terms of formula and plot...but it's still enjoyable, especially with Amanda Seyfried in the lead and a good cast to back her up. This follow Seyfried as she's a writer/journalist who travels to Italy to meet her fiancé and follow up on some stories about letters to Juliet that were supposed to have been written. (Yes, the Juliet from the Shakespeare play.) She finds the letter, including one that's 50 years old, and it upsets a man from London that she meets. This is a good romance that pleases from start to finish with good shots of the Italian countryside and good characters. I liked it and you will too.** 1/2 out of ****

As a girl who believes in true love and love at first sight the first look of this film seemed good to me. However, as I began to watch the film after reading nothing about it to begin with I was surprised to find out it was a story about a inspiering writer. As someone who wants to become a journalist this film was perfect for me and this film has definitely inspierd me to believe in myself and carry on working towards journalism. As a want to be writer and am believer of true love how could I have any disappointment about this film? This film is a sweet-hearted film that in my opinion is suitable for any age. Throughout the film the message I received was you cannot forget about your true love and no matter what age you are, old or young it is there. Love is a thing that will never die and this film showed me this. This film is perfect for anybody who wants to watch a cute and amazingly told love story. I would definitely recommend to someone to watch and I am certain to watch this film again. This film shows you comedy, humor, happiness but, it did make me cry of sadness and happieness. I hope one day that I find love this strong. I know its out there. Its just about findig it. Overall I think that this film is excellent and most certainly worth a watch. I just hope you get the same feelings as me while watching it.

From the whole story, I do believe that total care would melt a closed-heart. It does affect me that whatever I believe for love reason, it will results as beautiful as I deserved. Also, if we ever heard that "Walls are listening, while wind do the speaking," quote, than talking about love isn't stuck only in our mind. Our environment also 'support' us in other way. Like Juliet Wall in Vienna, for me personal, it isn't just myth or folk-tale. It is a good media to share feelings (and I know that Juliet Secretary said they're really replying the letter, they mentioned me on a social media), but at the end, true love exist, and if we deserve true love, we are having it on the bottom of our heart.

Letters to Juliet (2010): Dir: Gary Winick / Cast: Amanda Seyfried, Christopher Egan, Vanessa Redgrave, Gael Garcia Bernal, Franco Nero: Shakespeare has always been the figure for love and tragedy. Here we have a romance addressing the heroine who has seen it all. Amanda Seyfried is in Italy with her fiancé and becomes intrigued with a group a ladies who answer letters addressed to Juliet with regards to love and relationships. Seyfried contacts an elderly woman whose letter dates back to 1957. With reluctance of her grandson they begin an odyssey to find the male whom she nearly married. Director Gary Winick has fun with the Shakespeare theme although the screenplay is pretty thin. Winick previously directed the romantic themed 13 Going On 30 as well as the non romantic Charlotte's Web. Seyfriend holds her own as this curious young woman fascinated with love that has aged by decades. Christopher Egan as the grandson basically gets reduced to a back and forth spat with Seyfried until he arrives where viewers all know is obvious. Vanessa Redgrave as the grandmother in search of her past Romeo is very good as she accepts Seyfried as a friend and encounters one false Romeo after another since several bear the same name. Will she meet the real one? Is the sky blue? Gael Garcia Bernal as Seyfried's Italian cook fiancé is written out conveniently and never played as anything but a lousy plot prop. This might make for a decent date film although males may prefer something more upbeat and less sappy. The Shakespeare theme will make the letter worth opening only for chick flick fans. Score: 6 / 10
