Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

I knew this movie was significant in some way, but I couldn't remember why but when looking at the date, I remembered. It was August 24th, 2001 and it's the last movie I've ever seen in my life that took place before 911. In a way, this was the last movie a lot of us saw before the world changed forever. Of course, let me talk about this movie and why I sincerely enjoy it. Some consider it one of the weaker films in the View Askewniverse, but I rather enjoyed it. I looked up this page and found out it spoofs a total of 52 different things!I seriously think that's a record for anything here beating what I thought was the record holder, "Shrek" at 45 spoofs. It makes sense that the two most famous characters from the View Askewniverse would get their own movie. They were probably the funniest parts of the other films and I really did think they held enough for a movie in their own right. Be warned that this might be the most profane comedy ever made at 251 f-words. I actually lost count after the first two minutes and gave up counting. While not one of the best comedies ever made, I still think it's worth checking out. ***

I love jay and silent bob have to give it a 10. I can't fault any Kevin Smith films and can't wait for the new one to come out next year you don't have be a stoner to appreciate the humour though it does help to understand the drugs references I love how he uses a lot of the same actors in his films and so many cameos by famous stars.keep going Kevin Smith me and all the other jay and silent bob fans are on the edge of seats waiting for the new film

Best appreciated with Kevin Smith's early career movies fresh in memory, this fifth feature from the Jersey director gives his recurring supporting characters a film of their own as the two stoner friends set out to sabotage a Hollywood motion picture based on their likenesses. It is as fun as it sounds and while Jay and Silent Bob's shenanigans are not as funny here as in 'Mallrats' (where they stole every scene), Smith milks every movie-making reference for all that it is worth. There are some great fourth-wall breaking moments, Ben Affleck is hilarious as his 'Chasing Amy' character who scoffs at Affleck the actor, stating that he is "not a fan" of 'Good Will Hunting', and there is a wacky 'Scooby Doo' parody in the mix too. The most deliciously satirical moments are saved for the third act though with the title characters running amok in Miramax Studios where Wes Craven is shooting yet another 'Scream' flick and Gus Van Sant is filming a lame 'Good Will Hunting' sequel! Affleck and Matt Damon (playing themselves) are given some of the film's funniest dialogue in this section as they mock each other's career choices. While the film ends on a high note, there is no denying how sidetracked the middle section of the film feels as the duo become involved with animal rights activists. Smith overdoses on gags involving the acronym 'C.L.I.T.', Will Ferrell is grating as an inept cop, and most disappointingly, this middle section lacks the movie references of the film's first and final half hour. Never to mind, the highlights of the film are what stand out afterwards and there too many to count. All concerned are in top form and 'Star Wars' fans will no doubt appreciate Mark Hamill's cameo as a flabbergasted actor.

Two stoners, one does not say much, the other never shuts up. Full off effing and blinding, a lot of gay jokes, some patchy humour and essentially a road trip where the duo steal a monkey get implicated in a diamond heist, meet the scooby gang and get shot at by Will Ferrell.Jay and Silent Bob are on their way to Hollywood to stop the comic book characters Bluntman and Chronic who have their likeness to be turned into a movie as well as getting paid for their use of image rights.Silent Bob is alright but Jay is too much for even the most broad minded mainly because he never shuts the f**k up. There is crude humour some funny, there are cameos including Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, although I found the constantly cash counting Gus Van Sant humorous as well as Chris Rock playing a venomous film director.
