I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

Boo! A Madea Halloween (2016) 1/2 (out of 4)Brian (Tyler Perry) can't control or even say no to his 17-year-old daughter Tiffany (Diamond White) so he asks Madea (Perry) to sit with her while he goes out of town. Daddy is worried she will sneak off to a frat party, which she does and of course Madea must follow her.You have to respect Tyler for what he has accomplished in his career. I will admit that this here was my first Madea movie and I will admit that I hated it. In fact, it was one of the worst comedies that I've ever seen. At the same time, I can respect the fact that this film as well as other Madea movies are quite popular and Tyler at least gives his fans what they want. With that said, this is without question one of the worst comedies in recent memory. From what I've read this was filmed in six-days, which is rather remarkable for a film made today. What's so bad about this movie is that the screenplay is just so uneven and so unfunny. I mean, the final sequence is basically a bunch of young adults being terrified with rape. Yeah, real funny. The entire movie was one failed laugh after another and all of it can go back to the screenplay. There are scenes that just drag on for no apparent reason and then there are scenes where the "joke" just gets dragged out to the point where you wish you'd hear someone yell cut. I honestly laughed at maybe two things here and everything else was just so forced and juvenile.Again, I can respect that this series has its fans but I honestly can't see why. I'm not going to judge the entire series off of one movie but this didn't really make me want to check out others.

I LOVE Halloween, and I love the Madea character and I was ecstatic when this was announced. I like that Madea is more of the main star now. In the earlier films like Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Madea's Family Reunion, she was mostly a background character that only came in for comic relief. Madea's Witness Protection, A Madea Christmas, and now Boo! A Madea Halloween have all be good to me because she's out in front. Brian's daughter, Tiffany has grown up and now a teenager. She and her friends want to go to a college Halloween party but her dad forbids it. Tiffany is out of control, so Brian calls his crazy Aunt Madea to come watch her all night while he's out of town. Madea brings Aunt Bam, Hattie, and Joe to keep her company. Tiffany tries to convince them the house is haunted. Soon enough, she sneaks out and Madea chases after her. She has to put up with frat boys, clowns, ghosts and zombies throughout the Halloween night to try to get Tiffany back on the right track. If you love Madea and Halloween, I highly recommend BOO! A MADEA HALLOWEEN!!!

Somebody needs to tell Tyler Perry his one-trick pony (a/k/a Madea) has been beaten to death. Boo! A Madea Halloween is a perfect example. The same recycled, hackneyed, one-note, shallow, and unfunny situations are present again--complete with the same people. At least this one wasn't about some beaten down black woman/girl who needed to find her place in the world, stand up to her man, and ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz. It is mind boggling how he can pop out these POS and always manage to attract an audience. Madea's answer to everything is violence. If that is not bad enough, Perry is now blatantly stealing comedic material from DEAD people, i.e. the line "beat her till the white meat shows" is a line straight out of the late Bernie Mac's "Kings of Comedy" routine. Shameful. And if he thinks for a minute that I believe anybody could go to a frat party and NOT find drugs, liquor, or copulation, well, he is a fool.Rated PG-13. I would rather watch a cow scratch its ass on a fence than another installment of this crap.
