The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

This film follows football agent Jerry Maguire, as he has an epiphany about himself and his line of work, and the actions he committs following this. We see as Jerry goes on a journey of love and growth, as he learns to love his job and finally have intimacy. With stellar performances and an exceptional script, this is a must see.

Perhaps one of the most quoted movies is Jerry Maguire (1996). So is it really worth all the hype? I think so! Tom cruise and Renee Zellweger give masterful performances in this sports agent drama. Tom of course is always great, he's one of my very favorites, but if I'm being honest, Zellweger shines the most of all here. "You had me at hello". That probably is the most popular quote of the whole film, and it's deserving of that title. That is just good heartfelt writing, some may think it's cheesy or overly cliché, but I just think it's her character being honest about her true love for cruise's character. Cuba Gooding Jr. is the actor who won the academy award for his supporting performance, and yes it's true, he is very good here, I'm not totally certain it was worth an Oscar, but it's still good work. The script is pretty well written, it's all centered about tom cruise and his revelation as a person, and the romance between Zellweger and him is all apart of his big change in himself. The chemistry between all the actors on screen is good and believable, cruise and Zellweger having the best and most real seeming. I suggest this movie for both men and women, young and old, you certainly do not have to enjoy sports to enjoy this. Hell I'm living proof of that. 8/10 for Jerry Maguire.

Jerry Maguire is a feel good romantic drama which surfed a zeitgeist wave in the mid 1990s and coined catchphrases such as 'Show me the money' 'You had me at hello' and 'You complete me.'Tom Cruise plays the successful sports agent Jerry Maguire who upsets his bosses with a mission statement such as having less clients in order to serve them better. His rival at the firm has to fire him and then compete for all his clients.Maguire is only left with one client, a mouthy, flamboyant football player Rod Tidwell (Cuba Gooding jr) who is upset that he is not getting the top endorsement deals. Maguire also is also chasing a hot shot player for the draft and thinks he has bagged him only to be snatched away by his rival.Maguire starts out at the bottom with Tidwell and Dorothy (Renee Zellweger) a single mother and one of the assistants from the sports agency who has followed him. Dorothy and Jerry fall in love but we are not sure if he genuinely confused her loyalty with love.Maguire needs to persuade Tidwell to play football with his heart and not think about endorsements or why other players are earning more. Tidwell shows loyalty and friendship to Maguire but in the football field he comes across as shallow and selfish. A reason why Maguire is struggling to get a lucrative contract deal for him.Jerry Maguire is actually a corny film, Cuba Gooding jr provides the laughs but the romance angle is very cheesy.At the end Maguire is successful because of the one to one relationship he has with his only client which other sports player are envious of.I saw this film again after 20 years because part of the scenes were featured in The Lego Batman Movie, the implication being some of the lines are hackneyed.

I am big fan of tom cruise n i have watched most of his movies n all r entertaining, but Jerry is that kind of movie which not only entertains you but also makes you feel good. Tom cruise was the perfect choice for jerry maguire, i can't think of any actor in that role,, tom cruise is always considered as the best good looking actor who he is but , but i like him for his acting,, his acting in this movie is so believable, funny , goofy and whenever he shouts, yells , in movie not only entertains cuba gooding jr. but us also. i had always watched tom cruise as an action star before watching jerry maguire cuz i watched this movie 20 yr later its release. he should have gotten an Oscar award for this movie, which he really deserved. the other cast of movie were very good. cuba gooding is funny at times. the coordination between him n tom cruise in this movie is so good that it makes you feel like you are watching real people talking. renee zellweger is also quite good in her role, the screenplay is very entertaining n doesn't make u feel bored , the cinematography, dialogues, Direction of cameron crowe. Cameron crowe is a great director and whenever he n tom cruise works together its,they always bring good movies....
