I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

As someone who's never seen the show that this film is based on, I can't really say that I loved this film as much as I was hoping to. Not to say that this a bad film, as i'm almost 100% certain that fans of the show would love it. But, as someone who's never seen it before, this film just didn't grab me as much. One, the character development is mediocre at best, as all anyone who hasn't seen the show sees in this film fis a family that treats everything and everyone darkly and unkindly. And the story is much more reminiscent of something you might see on TV than in a film. Which, I understand why it is this way, considering that this film is mainly for fans of the show, but still. I feel like there could've been more work put in to bring newcomers into the dark world of the Addams Family. But I feel like this film doesn't quite hit the mark, and can seem more weird and kind of tiring than entertaining for those who haven't seen the show. But, I guess this film has enough morbidly great stuff, great performances, and dedication to how the show was to make most, if not all fans of the original show happy. So I can't say that this film is bad, as it's not at all. But it would've been a lot better if it also focused on pulling in new people rather than just make a film for the fans. Then again, who am I to judge what the film makers do? If you're a fan of the show, you'll definitely enjoy this film. But if you've never seen the show, it's more recommended to watch the show first, as this film doesn't seem to have enough character development or as good of a story structure to recommend otherwise. Overall, this films alright. If I ever do watch the show and then rewatch this film and if my opinion changes, I might delete this review and rewrite it. But until then, I think this film is just alright.

This movie is based on some con-artists who plan to steal the wealth of an eccentric family by claiming to be the long lost uncle. The plot of this movie was an average as we have seen many movies with this sort of stories but keep in mind this movie was released on the year 1991 and yes there was fantasy, there were lots to laugh in this movie from time to time. But I still feel it could have been made better. There was some really exceptional acting by everyone in this movie with great BGM and music from time to time.YES I would recommend people to give this movie a shot.My Rating 6/10

The Adams Family movie is one of the best TV to film adaptations ever made. Based off of the beloved television series of the same name, the film follows the odd band of Adams's through a zany tale of mischief and lost memory. The Adams Whamily comes to the big screen with a wham of nostalgia for old fans, and will surely excite newcomers. All of the performances here are excellent, with Angelica Huston and Christopher Lloyd really shining. Christina Ricci is also great, especially for a child actress. Everyone else is superb, as each player brings their roles to life. The film tells the story of father Gomez, who is visited by an oddball stranger claiming to be his long-lost brother, Fester, played brilliantly by Christopher Lloyd. The imposter Fester has been sent in by his supposed mother to steal a legendary treasure that is stored in the Adams house. This leads to much hilarity ensuing. The production does a great job of recapturing a more modern feel of the TV show, as well as with casting.Notable scenes include the mamushka dance number, the ginger woman falling in love with Cousin It, Gomez's fantastic sword fight with who I believe was his accountant or attorney, and when the family digs up their loved ones at the end of the film.In addition, costume choices and set design were both superb. It was great to see a huge set for the family house, and accurate receations and nods to the show.As for negatives, the Adams Family does include a number of scenes with "stupid humor." These are moments that are ridiculous, but that are meant to be this way. It takes a special person to appreciate these jokes. The filmmakers seemed to want viewers to separate themselves from these moments and have fun with them.Overall, The Adams Family is a great deal of fun for fans and the uninitiated. I would greatly recommend it to anyone. Cousin It is bae.

It seems like the film industry today is using the teenage goth subculture to make fast cash, producing bad films such as Hotel Transylvania (2012), Frankenweenie remake (2012) etc. but I still prefer movies like The Addams Family, where rather than trying to make a quick buck they think more about the quality of the movie. The acting is amazing, the movie is creepy yet comedic at the same time, the soundtrack is excellent and overall this is a very enjoyable film to watch. The Addams Family is a clan of bizarre, Gothic people, from circus freaks to punks to murderers to crazy people, and the film revolves around Gomez Addams and his strange family. They live in a mansion next to a toxic waste dump on a hill secluded from the conforming suburbs of the city. Gomez has his beloved wife Morticia, his trustworthy butler Lurch, his two children Wednesday and Pugsley, Granny (Morticia's mom), and their pet human hand, Thing. Although they are extremely creepy they are kind to everyone and avoid harming people for the most part, and are happy to live together in their home. When a long-lost relative, believed to be dead, shows up at the door, Gomez is thrilled. He'd been searching for his brother Fester, a fat bald man in a trench coat, for years, while everyone assume Fester was dead. What Gomez fails to realize is that Fester is actually Gordon, a man living with his loan shark mom and they've set up a scheme, along with the Addams' sleazy lawyer Tully, to take away everything from the Addams Family.I loved The Addams Family as a kid, and I still watch it every year. I highly recommend it, along with its 1993 sequel and the television show.
