A waste of 90 minutes of my life

For having a relatively low budget, the film's style and overall art direction are immensely impressive.

It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

I had never read the book, but I gave it a go. It was great! I thought it was very well thought out, and quite good for a TV movie. It's simply a movie about a teen girl who writes her journals in book form, and it accidentally gets published. It follows the rise and fall of her book, all wrapped up in friendship, drama, humor, and parties. It's very realistic. It's very down to Earth. I love how it becomes like when Harry Potter was released, everyone goes mental over it! All things considered, great film, not to be missed. I'm surprised that it didn't get released as a big Hollywood blockbuster. I'll have to read the book to see how similar it is to the movie, but I'm guessing it's very similar. I love Kay and Danielle Panabaker in this film! They are great as their roles as Jamie and Is! All in all, great TV film.

Okay... The only thing that was similar to the movie and the book was the names. For god's sake, what happened to Allie? I liked her. And Jennifer 2's incident? Okay, so Disney might not have done that anyway but it made up a huge segment of the book, which brings me to this conclusion - why even make the whole freaking movie if you were just going to edit things out? It's just dumb. Really...And the thing that bothers me most? Hello, IS didn't turn evil in the book unless there's a sequel I don't know about.Okay, the end with Conner was pretty good. But the party, WHAT? That was downright horrible. She let people trash her without doing anything. And what's up with Harmony and Lindsay? They weren't mean to Jamie in the book, and I'd really prefer if they had edited that part out because it's downright dumb. I mean, why not put the Jennifer2 incident in instead of that? I'm kind of annoyed at Disney just for doing that, but once again, my opinion. And besides, what's to expect for a Disney movie? The acting was sort of good, but the plot I didn't like at all. I'd give it two out of five stars.The morals are, I guess, to believe in yourself.. or something. Whatever. Anyone who loves this movie has never read the book, but once again, my opinion.

I thought it was great how much the main character Jami, (Kay Panabaker who is one of my favorite actresses) changed over the movie. She went from a girl that wants to be someone else to someone that ends up really appreciating her life. Since I'm a teenager I can relate to a lot of the problems in the movie, and I think a lot of the other viewers feel the same. I also liked how Jami's alter ego Is was always telling and trying to convince Jami to do the wrong thing, but at the end Jami wouldn't let Is get inside her head. So overall this was great and I highly recommend it!
