It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.

If u want to watch a good movie on your weekend this is a great choice.. u won't regret it.. and also this movie has an awesome soundtrack... Which I've been listening to on repeat.. and the overall movie is just simple and great.. I'd have regretted it if I hadn't seen this movie after checking the disappointing and poor rating for this movie on IMDb.. but thank God I did watch it ;)

The awakening is 51st another lose remake trying to copy the originality and fresh feel of the first of two teenagers falling in love.A modern day retelling has Emma and Dean on a high school trip aboard seas. Already the plot seems out there as Natlie Holloway had gone missing in the Bahamas five years earlier and all future school trips like this were banned. While the other events are completely ignored and we seen the same experiences before it didn't really pick up until the rescue from the search part.Brooke Sheilds and Christopher Atkins making guest appearances as A parent to each child.Emma being a popular girl, well Dean's not, tries to push her feelings aside and go on with her life like nothing happened. More of a stretch is that Dean was the masculine sexy broading type who wouldn't be so uncool or a girl would be ashamed to take home to mama. The theme I liked explored here that was touched on in the sequel was you never knew if the couples belonged together or its a matter of convince.Dean and Emma chose each other at the end based on mural attractions and inner self they learned about one another in a secured space. It was more enjoyable then return and felt this was the follow up we've been waiting for.8/10

Emma Robinson (Indiana Evans) is a popular sweet girl. Her partying friend Lizzie tries to push her to date the hot quarterback. Dean McMullen (Brenton Thwaites) is the angry school outcast. The class goes to Trinidad to do humanitarian work or more like a privileged Caribbean vacation. They go on a party yacht. The police breaks up the party. Emma falls off the boat. Dean jumps in after her. Dean cuts the line not wanting to get in trouble with the cops. They are lost in the ocean and lands on a desolate island.Dean is a real jerk and a true idiot. He is a horrible character. He could be an interesting quiet introspective outcast. Instead, he is really annoying and fully deserves his outcast position. It doesn't help that he's the reason that they're stranded. He caused the whole thing. The movie needs him to save her to start their adventure. On the positive side, it's two beautiful people on a desert island. The time back home is actually more interesting and a bit more compelling. The last act has some good melodrama. Neither of the actors are terribly good although I can't blame anything on their performance. They did what the movie needs but nothing more.

This is supposed to be the new version of the blue lagoon. There is the island, the sea, the "dangerous", "mystery" and of course the blue lagoon. And the actress Indiana Evans and her mom (Denise Richardson) could be clones of the Milla Jovovich and Brooke Shields. But this look much more a third version of swept away. A popular chick and a lonely guy (both look like supermodels or at least like The Robinson Swiss Family), take about from a ship, and then ended in an inhabited island. The thought at first that they were on a resort. After a couple of days, they cut strategically their clothes, and finally have sex until they are rescued a month after. Finally, they have some troubled for stay together after they were rescued, but end happily together just like the infamous Madonna movie. If you forget the impossible details. Like this could happened on the Caribbean sea (much possible in the Pacific Ocean, where there are thousands of relative big deserted islands), they look better in the island with the sun, they haven't troubles with the bugs, bad sleep, and the duo looks more like supermodels, well isn't as bad. In fact it's an entertaining movie. From the cast Christopher Atkins, has not learned anything from acting since his debut 35 years ago. Denise Richards as the suffer mum is just a little better. And the couple, definitive the guy Dean (Brendon Thwaites) is a much better actor than Atkins, share some emotion, and probably will a better career than Gaskill, after cast in a key role on a Angelina Jolie movie. From the girl Evans. Well Jovovich and Shields weren't good actress at time they made their flicks.Jovovich need more than ten years to be a great action (and acceptable drama) actress, and Shields 25 to be a good comedian on TV and Stage. So clearly, her acting could be improve.-
