Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??
Brilliant and touching
There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.
Proud Mary in my opinion was very good. The movie was just too short. The Movie was filmed in a short period of time. 1hr and 30 minutes. We definitely needed a 2 hour movie. Taraji P. Henson is definitely one of the greatest Actresses in the world. An A list Actress. Movie Theaters money maker. Now that Proud Mary is on Starz see more postings of people loving this movie. A lot less negativity. Taraji is more talented than the movie .
So... I just bought this movie... oh well, I guess I can't pick winners everytime. #shouldhaveclickedtherentbuttonI'm pretty sure this movie just ruined Tina Turner's version of Proud mary for me. Action sequences, story and editing, bad. (I think they should have used that out of tune flute song from Titanic instead, it would have been more fitting).This is one of them times where the people making the trailer did a good job and lured me in...

When a sanctioned hit leaves a boy alive, Mary decides to abandon her family in order to right her wrong."What part about don't go into my room didn't you understand?" I love Taraji P. Henson and she was good in this film...but the film itself was not rollin...rollin...rollin on the river (de-do do do do). The story lacked any substance and there was no character development...plus not enough violence to counter it. It was pretty good for what it was, but I can't recommend you go searching for it.
As in my title I'm bias for Taraji, otherwise I would have given this a 2 for action and soundtrack. Script was sad and predictable. Was a 70's style movie that they must have tried to bring back to this era like a throwback, lol.Good casting who must have owed a favor to somebody. Definitely a cable or video only movie.
