That was an excellent one.
Really Surprised!
An Exercise In Nonsense
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
Influenced by very bad reviews, I thought I was going to have a really bad experience. Nevertheless, I was able to see this movie as a great piece of entertainment. This is not a wonderfull movie, and in begining I began to think I was going to be a waste of time but when the "real action" I started to like it. Having said that it is indeed an enjoyable movie to watch with friends.
This movie is clearly for open-minded individuals who appreciate technology and morality featured in a beautiful package.
Sorry but Gary Oldmans voice as the AI-Computer just put me off! I only watched 30 mins and could not finish the film, sorry but I love GO, always have and always will but he was mis-cast here, he's trying to do a weird voice which is just wrong. No idea how it ends, sorry.
There are many AI films out there, most of which end up being ridiculously preachy and try to beat the audience over the head with lessons about morality, how we treat others, etc. This movie doesn't do that. Tau delivers a very unique and enjoyable take on the AI experience. We get a really believable AI with a human counterpart. The two play off each others experiences perfectly, and deliver a truly riveting performance. We don't get the usual "AI taking over the world" cliche or the "I'm so human, please love me" idiocy. We get an AI that is truly inhuman, but still far more humane than most characters in such films. And we see a woman who is both victim and hero rolled into one, who for a change actually acts in intelligent and believable ways. This movie is a must see. Either enjoy it as a great sci-fi flick about AI, or as a wonderful drama about overcoming impossible odds (and honestly I'm not even a fan of most dramas). Definitely add this movie to your watch list. You won't regret it.
