This Movie Can Only Be Described With One Word.
Best movie ever!
The movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Escape room is not a good movie but i have seen worst. With some tweaks it could have been a tad better. The characters are shallow and unlikeable. I got a serious problem with one of the puzzle which only could be solved with very specific knowledge. The movie overall suffers from illogical choices made by the director / script writer so dont waste time on this movie and watch something good.
Like everyone else said before.. Ok trailer. Interesting story line "Four friends test their intelligence in a game that takes a dark turn." Starts out with a nonsense scene, then comes the actual opening title which is VERY BORING and EVEN MORE BORING. Then comes the actual story which starts out ok.. Not good but ok and a little later everything goes total crazy, pointles and nonsense. Really. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. The acting was ok. Everything else was basicly ok. But that script. Dude. That script is a nightmare. It is like almost the worst ever. How can they pay for it? But for real? I can't really think that anybody actually read the script before shooting. And when they realized what a piece of ***** it was it was already too late.
As the title of the movie suggests and the boxart hint at, the movie is about a group of friends who participate in an Escape Room, an activity where a person/people are tasked with solving a series of puzzles before the time limit runs out. Of course, it turns deadly, but not any more interesting or thrilling. As I mentioned, this has Saw rip-off written all over it. That doesn't automatically disqualify it from being good. It's nowhere near as bad as anything from the Asylum or Video Brinquedo, but it's hardly up to snuff. The characters aren't cliched, in fact they don't have any real characteristics. There are only two in the cast with any actual acting chops, were Annabelle Stephenson who plays a decent ice queen and Evan William's smart guy who slowly becomes more unraveled. Not at all Oscar-worthy performances, but not really Razzie material, either. There is some decent gore in the few scenes that it actually happens, but that's really all the movie has going for it. The games don't even have the philosophical weight or complexity to them like the Saw movies. It's worth a watch and it's mercifully short, 80 minutes.
The trailer captivates the possible viewers, but the actually movie sucks.. Lack of story, of good script and so on. i want my money back!
