ESCAPE (2019)
Escape is a short film that was made in 48-hours for the 2880 Film Challenge in Mississippi in November of 2019. It went on the be selected as the winner for the challenge. Written and Directed by Jake Cockrell and Sam Graef. Robert Smith goes to work every day and does his job. But the mundane work, overtime, and high-pressure demands from his boss can't compete with his true passion.

SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?
I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
