Bad Ben (2016)
Tom Riley thought he was getting the deal of a lifetime when he bought a house below market value at a Sheriff's sale. He invested every penny he had with the plan of flipping the home for a profit. Once he owned it, however, he noticed strange happenings, all of which were captured on 21 Surveillance Cameras located throughout the home inside and out. At first, he thought people were breaking in, but he soon realized he was dealing with something Paranormal.

Far from Perfect, Far from Terrible
Best movie ever!
Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
This isn't even a b-movie. It's a c-movie. Hard to feel sympothy for a character who acts like an asshat. He antagonized the spirit since learning it was there, desecrated a grave, destroyed a satanic altar without doing the proper rites (or research), and swore at what he thought was a child spirit. The acting was awful. The character is relatable so I didn't actually care of he survived the movie or not
I don't have a single positive thing to say. Bad acting, bad storyline, didn't make it to the end!
Given that BAD BEN is nothing more than an indie riff on PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, I thought it was pretty decent given the limited budget and funds available for shooting. The story is the usual one about a guy living in a haunted house who sets up surveillance cameras everywhere in a bid to capture unexplained events on film. Nothing much happens here, except for the guy having minor breakdowns and the occasional door creaking, and it's all laughably mundane, but somehow it kept me mildly amused throughout.
I have to say I have become dismayed by the horror genre lately, especially the over hyped, over budgeted Hollywood remakes. I also don't like the found footage style. However, saying that. I found this to be a breath of fresh air despite its low budget.OK, there was only one guy in it, but for an unknown, I can honestly say I enjoyed his performance and so much so, I am watching the follow up later this week. So, well done to this man and I look forward to see what else you come up with.
