Vengeance (2001) was the first annual Vengeance PPV. It was presented by Lugz and took place on December 9, 2001 at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, California. The main feature of the event was a three-match tournament to unify the WWF Championship and the unbranded former WCW Championship into what became known as the Undisputed Championship. Stone Cold Steve Austin competed against kurt Angle in the first match for the WWF Championship. Chris Jericho then competed against the Rock for the World Championship. The winners of those two matches then fought for the Undisputed Championship title. In the undercard, The Hardcore Championship was defended by Rob Van Dam against The Undertaker, Edge defended the Intercontinental Championship against William Regal, Big Show and Kane challenged The Dudley Boyz for the Tag team Championship belts, and Trish Stratus fought Jacqueline for the Women's Championship.

SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

1. Test/Christian Vs. Albert/Scotty 2 Hotty - Albert beat Christian - surprise of the evening! Perfect opener 8/10 2. Intercontinental Title Match: Champ-Test Vs. William Regal - Edge scored. Regal has advantage all the match. 7/10 3. Matt Hardy Vs. Jeff Hardy - Decent one with Jeff's victory. What a shame. 7.5/10 4. WWF Tag Team Title Championship: Champs-Dudley Boyz Vs. Kane/Big Show - Lol Dudleyz defeated those power monsters. Show and Kane both "accidentally" hit each other. 7/10 5. WWF Hardcore Championship: Champ-RVD Vs. The Undertaker - In this bout RVD put a solid effort. Taker did nothing special, but is superstar and has new hair cut so he simply took the Hardcore belt from far better wrestler. 6/10 6. WWF Women's Championships: Champ-Trish Stratus Vs. Jacqueline - Match full of bumps and screwed moves. I love Jacqueline's hair. 6/10 Undisputed Champion Matches: 7. Kurt Angle Vs. Stone Cold - Austin cleanly defeated Angle by Stunner. 7.5/10 8. The Rock Vs. Chris Jericho - Simply perfect. Jericho over Rock by Rock Bottom. 9/10 9. Chris Jericho Vs. Stone Cold - Yes, this is the match. Chris Jericho became Undisputed Champion. 9/10 I hope this PPV saw Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan, immortal legends that choke young talent in WCW like Jericho was. I imagined them green from Envy. Ha.

Scotty 2 Hotty and Albert vs Test and Christian.Good opening but it is exceptionally hard to take Albert dancing seriously. 7/10.Intercontinental title – Edge vs William Regal.Good match with great build up, Regal again an underused superstar of mic and matt capability. Shame about the ending 8/10.Jeff Hardy vs Matt hardy. Two mega stars battling seemed awkward for fans as matt was doing a partial heel turn here. Because of this awkward brother vs brother and Lita as referee it didn't feel right and there were great moves and a controversial ending .Tag team titles Dudleys vs Show and Kane.Good match that was won a ridiculous way, great comedy here from the watching Stacy Keibler 7/10.Hardcore championship RVD vs Undertaker.A very, very good match that went through the audiences and ended in breaking fashion. Seeing Undertaker as a somewhat villain character, and not the good kind, is strange 8/10.Women's championship Trish vs Jacqueline.Good match over fairly quickly 6/10.Stone Cold vs Angle.Good match with great rivalry that went outside the ring numerous times contained some great moves and twists 9/10.Rock vs Y2J.This Jericho villain character is terrible and whilst the guy can still do the moves this was a stretch. Rock delivers great set ups and with a big shout and controversy this topped its predecessor to set up the final for the undisputed championship.Winners of last two matches face off for undisputed championship.Great match and great controversy to round off the PPV with the new undisputed champion.

It's almost been a year since the the Vengeance pay-per view that I first watched this when I bought the DVD. I'll tell you, that it was worth the money because the matches did not disappoint me. The best part of this PPV is that the WWE (or the WWF at the time) broke away from it's predictable nature by having the Undisputed Championship won by Chris Jericho`and not by Stone Cold or the Rock (the flagships of the WWF). Last year, no one expected Jericho to win, but after the matches he put on in this PPV, he is more than worthy to wear those straps.

(SPOILERS AHEAD)WWF Vengeance was a good card from start to finish in my opinion (with the exception of two matches) and probably the best WWF PPV of 2001.In the opener, Test and Christian faced Albert and Scotty 2 Hotty. This was action packed from start to finish with no slow spots and it was very exciting. It was better than I expected.Next up was William Regal VS Edge. I found the match quite disappointing and both men are capable of much more. The next match was quite disappointing. The lovely Lita was the guest referee for a match between Matt and Jeff Hardy. Matt and Jeff are a great tag team-no,a brilliant tag team-but the match just wasn't exciting for me.Kane and The Big Show were next to face the Dudleyz. Just like the opening tag match, this match exceeded my expectations. WWF Vengeance was a unique card. The matches I didn't expect much from turned out to be very good indeed whilst the second and third matches were not as good as I expected. The Undertaker battled Rob Van Dam in a brutal hardcore brawl. It was brilliant although I was quite concerned for Van Dam's welfare at the end (accidents do happen). Van Dam was put through a table and it looked real painful. The Undertaker was scarier than ever.Jacqueline fought Trish Stratus in the next match. It was quite good. Then we came to the triple main event for the undisputed championship. Now, I think it is safe to say that there will never be a true undisputed champion in wrestling because wrestling champions only defend their titles against other wrestlers within their company. A true undisputed champion would defend his belt against wrestlers from different organisations across the globe. But anyway, this is the WWF and being a brilliant organisation I could ignore the above facts.Stone Cold Steve Austin faced Kurt Angle in the first match. These two men have had some good matches but this was the best. I liked the finisher where Angle tried to use Austin's own move on him and Austin turned the tables on him to gain the victory.Next up was The Rock VS Chris Jericho in what I considered a wild brawl. Both men put on a good show that night. Jericho got the win...and immediately, Austin came down to ringside to face Jericho who had already battled the Rock in a gruelling 20 minute plus match. Austin VS Jericho was quite good and the ending was quite a shocker in which Jericho became 'undisputed champion.' Most people I spoke to expected Austin to win so it was a nice surprise for Jericho to win the belt. All in all, I recommend WWF Vengeance highly. Check it out.
