one of my absolute favorites!
It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
After watching this movie i'm simply amazed with the performance of Mr. Hritik Roshan, Legendary actor Mr. Amitabh Bachan and Mrs. Preety Chinta, Mr. Booman Irani, they all done brilliant Job here, storytelling was superb that going to keep you on the edge of your seat for the whole time. Also the songs in the movie are beautiful. My most Favorite 'Abh kuch Kar ke dekhana hai'. Now the most Important lesson which i took from this movie is how important to have a lakshya in our life and to chase we need to be self-disciplined. so inspiring that every time when i want a boost, i see the whole movie again and again and it still counts as it add something new every time. A must watch movie.
I had watched Lakshya in theatre 10 years ago. Today took some time off to watch it again, and boy I wasn't disappointed. Farhan Akhtar is at his best once again. After Dil Chahta Hai, the expectations were quite high and Farhan Akhtar has delivered an amazing movie. The transition of the character Karan Shergill played by Hrithik Roshan from an aimless, confused youngster to a determined, young army officer is really well done. Hrithik s holds his act apart, and has given an extraordinary performance. Preity Zinta as Romila was also good. Amitabh Bachchan has also a good role, and this movie is maybe one of the few in which the two legends Amrish Puri and Amitabh Bachchan are seen sharing screen space together for a few scenes. There are many memorable dialogues in the film. Cinematography is excellent and the beautiful terrain of Ladakh is well captured. Music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy is melodious and the theme music and background score is simply mindblowing. This movie other than being a war movie, also inspires youngsters to have a goal in life and work hard towards achieving it. There is very little war propaganda and jingoistic dialogues which is great. The war and action scenes have been shot really well. All in all, I can say that it was a pleasure rewatching this movie, in my opinion one of the best movies of the 2000s decade. that is why I give it a high rating of 9/10, and would definitely recommend it.
This film begins well and is interesting enough for the first hour. Unfortunately, the pace slackens as the film focuses on overlong attack sequences in the second half. It still remains watchable but is not as entertaining as Farhan Akhtar's first film 'Dil Chahta Hai'. Hrithik does a good job specially in the first half. He has an impressive dance number "Main Aisa Kyun". Preity doesn't share great chemistry with Hrithik and looks awkward as a reporter. Amitabh Bachchan has a short role and feels wasted. Tighter editing would have made this a much better film.Overall 5/10
I would not comment on things and stuff. 4 powerful scenes define the movie for me: 1. The scene where Preity is across the road and Hrithik gets out of the jeep and runs to her. She says that she will wait, Hrithik comes closer and does nothing, says nothing. But it is so understood he wanted to kiss her and could not.2. The scene when Preity discovers Hrithik alone, staring at the peak. Hrithik points to the peak, his eyes told it all for me.3. When Hrithik calls his dad the night before leaving, and tells him that he made the call to him and not his mom. And, when he says I love you. It just touches you 4. Obviously, the scene where Hrithik puts the Indian flag on the peak and looks up Brilliant Movie!!
