Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

I saw the commercial for this DVD and had to have it right away. I love Elvis and the clips that I watched from this concert made me believe "Elvis Lives". Seeing all of his past band members, back up singers there in the flesh performing live with Elvis on a big screen sold me. I will be watching this DVD for many years to come and my 5 year old son will learn who the true King of Rock and Roll truly is....LongLive The King! I love how this video was made, from Memphis, live from a packed concert hall with thousands of Elvis fans in the audience, as if they were at an actual live performance. I wish that I could have been there to see this with all the other fans, definitely history being made thanks to our age of technology.

Elvis Presley died in August 1977, so how can he appear in concert 25 years later? With a video screen, some nifty editing, and members of his original band and backing singers appearing live on stage is the answer. This shouldn't work, especially as the Elvis shown on video is under 40 while the musicians and singers are more like 70 - these include the Sweet Inspirations and the Stamp Quartet, Joe Guercio, Charlie Hodge, Ronnie Tutt, the Jordanaires, Glen Hardin, etc. It's fascinating seeing what these people look like 25 years on, and to hear them playing alongside the footage (taken from performances taped between 1969 and 1973).It is a curio, yes, and also includes some chat from the old bandmates which detracts a little from the overall experience. Still, worth a look, and if you are an Elvis fan, essential.
