It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

Shiva (Akshay Kumar) is a small-time thief in Mumbai who falls in love with Paro (Sonakshi Sinha). He tells her the truth about being a thief and resolves to give up crime because he loves Paro dearly. Before that, he decides to commit a large robbery along with his con-friend 2G (Paresh Ganatra), which would enable him to earn a lot of money; hence he can give up crime. He "tricks" a woman on a railway station and flees with a trunk. This leads Shiva to Chinki, a little girl who was in the trunk instead of the wealth he thought was there. Chinki thinks that he is her father. Puzzled, he is forced to keep Chinki with him, as a police officer Vishal Sharma (Yashpal Sharma) keeps his eye on him.Shiva fears Paro will catch him with Chinki and he will lose her forever. He finds a photo of Chinki and her father, who looks exactly like Shiva, thus realizing why Chinki thinks Shiva is her father. It is revealed that Chinki's father is Vikram Rathore (Akshay Kumar), who criminals fear. While chasing a goon to find his daughter, Rathore gets hit by an auto and his brain endures severe trauma. The doctor tells him that the brain injury is serious enough to put his life in danger.After a few days, Shiva gets fed up with Chinki and breaks the tape recorder she uses to listen to her mother's voice. The next morning, he learns that her mother died. Feeling guilty, he fixes the recorder and becomes fond of Chinki, taking care of her. Unfortunately, Paro sees this and believes he has a daughter that he hid from her and Paro leaves for Patna heartbroken. Soon, the goons who are after Rathore see Shiva. Thinking he is Rathore, they start chasing him. Shiva and Chinki flee for their lives and encounter the woman from the railway station and the police officer from earlier, who tell Shiva to run. Shiva is soon surrounded by the goons. It is revealed that Rathore is watching the whole thing from the top. Just as Shiva is about to get stabbed, Rathore jumps down.

One of the best Bollywood films I've seen in very long time. Even my teenage sons enjoyed. It had both comedic and action elements in this title. And I would highly recommend this title too anyone. Akshay Kumar's performance in this title was amazing. Do not listen to the bad reviews. They just do not know how to review a great movie. Definitely better than most of the Bollywood junk out there. Overall it's a great movie for the whole family to enjoy and contains humorous parts throughout the whole of the film. This is accompanied with a blend of comedic action, That really makes this film great. I would definitely recommend this. A great Bollywood flick!

I am shocked to see so many good reviews about such a bad film ....can't believe that it was Sanjay Leena Bansaali produced and Prabhu Deva directed...In one word it is cheap and has immature content.Bad story line.Can't believe that the producer had directed such good films earlier. Prabhu Deva...with all my respect towards you I would request you to be only in dance direction. Movie direction is not your cup of tea.The villains also need to improve their acting.Low grade action/comedy/circus movie.

Everyone was waiting for this movie to release. The reason, "Akshay Kumar" returning in the action genre after a very long period & also "Prabhu Deva" as a director for second time in bollywood.His first bollywood directorial debut was Wanted starring Salman Khan. It was a huge Hit back then. The return of bollywood Masala genre that had been left behind on 90's. What i mean about bollywood masala is, one man hero show or may say the hero is larger then life where one can fight 100 of villains with his bare hand and defeat all of them & doesn't get a scratch or whatsoever. So lets come back to this movie. The title Rowdy Rathore sounds pretty interesting. As i was guessing it to be a good action packed movie with some of akshay's martial arts move. But to my surprise it was not like that at all. Because the promo of this movie looked pretty Rowdy with some fearsome dialogs. But the action is not to the level that the audience expected. Seems like akshay is out of shape now a days because you can compare his action movies in the late 90's & this one. Its far different then of those 90's movies.Back then his movies used to be full of great kicks & martial arts but now u can barely see him doing a round kick or high kicks at all. After he got into the comedy genre, he have forgotten all his moves. The movie starts with some comedy.And the comedy is not fresh.We have seen the same scene in so many other movies. It seems like the writers have just copied & paste it.For example the first scene when Shiva & his friend try to split the money, they just copied the entire scene from the movie "chup chupke", where pares rawal and om puri delivers the same dialogs in a better way. The romantic part was unnecessary. The only part that i was focused was when Bikram rathore's story begins. The character was larger then life. The presence of this character was very dynamic. They could have shorten the comedy parts & could have longer this part more.Watching this reminded me of Ajay Devgan in the movie "Singham". Akshay looked really good in this bold character & the dialogs was also matching the character.But After sometime, again comes the boring part. The magic is gone after they killed the character Rathore. They tried to put some comedy again & it was very boring. The guy Paresh, who played as a friend of Shiva(Akshay) is useless. He can do much better then that.Sonakshi who plays the lead actress is also useless. She has been put in some really unnecessary scenes. Like in the climax when the villains have kidnapped her & rathore's daughter, she says some really funny dialogs that doesn't match with her character at all.Its kinda annoying then funny.Some songs are nice though but not really Awesome.The songs choreography was not so impressive, as the audience expects more when it is prabhu deva's movie. On the whole i give it a 4 star(only for the scene that i mentioned above).
