Good start, but then it gets ruined
Brilliant and touching
brilliant actors, brilliant editing
It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.
Tere (Nora Aunor) and Rex (De Leon) have been going steady for a couple of years. Their relationship is what is norm, simple and uncomplicated . Then comes Sandra, a vibrant woman who attracts Rex. Can a man fall for two women? Perhaps this question is raised countless times in books and movies, but Bernal's take on the two Filipino stars is what makes interesting movie viewing. There are no confrontation scenes between the two actresses, as they sit across each other the first time they met, only awkward silence. And certainly not even a word spoken in the final scene, only facial expressions.( The last scene would not work in another director or actor's hands.) Still, this is a must see for film enthusiasts, as arguably the best one of the few movies that starred both Nora and Vilma. Kudos for restoring this piece of work for future generations to see.
