Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Dreadfully Boring
A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
I thought I would never be able to find an entry on this site till now. I remembered this was shown here like two years ago or something on the television.Growing up reading some of Hans Christian Andersen's works had definitely made me curious into watching this. Maybe it's just me, but I thought it was like fairytale-like at times. I mean it in a good way and it's true.Though being in my late teens, it's always such shows like this which will always bring me back to my childhood days.Quite enchanting with those characters as well. Amazing.
Adding to some previous comments, I would like to say that this film is just WOW! I'd been a big fan of Hans Christian Andersen before.. and now even more! When I saw the preview of this movie on Hallmark Channel, I just thought I shouldn't miss it. So, I spent two consecutive nights to watch both parts of this spectacular film; crisp yet heart-throbbing (especially Kieran Bew)! So sad to find out that there's not much information about him on the net, because he's a new-comer :( Well, I just hope to see him on TV again (or even cinema) in the future.
Oooooooh, I loved this movie. Quite true to Andersen's life. Kieran Brew (Hans) captured his innocent, sensitive personality just perfectly. Emily Hamilton as Jette was also fantastic. Good integration of his tales into the plot, that was a good addition. I loooooved this movie!
Great performance for the new actor Kieran Bew. Although the movie is a bit over dramatical, a new face with talent boosts the film up and makes it fun to watch. Funny, sensitive, exciting, everything you want in a fairytale drama.
