I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

ATTENTION! If you feel OFFENDED by Movies like Omen & co. Don't read this review because I m gonna add some "Anti-Christ" Quotes from the Movie.I really liked the Movie. It might not be Omen but its worth Watching and a lot better then Rosemary's ABaby. I think it is very under rated. Its not a Horror Movie, more a Mystery. However the first 20 Minutes are lame. When she kills her Son and it happens to be that the "Satanist" wanted her to, I lost the Thread but then I was okay. I think the Movie deserves attention from Mystery Fans. It has a Creepy moments, but I began to enjoy the Movie when the Taxi Driver appears. What he says is really interesting. Unforgettable Scene.I decided not to add the Quotes from the Movie.

**Potential spoiler although I didn't make it a half hour into this movie** A quick peek at my movie selection, with such classics as Drainiac! and The Dead Hate the Living, shows how much I accept and appreciate a cheap-o horror movie. In fact, I bought this movie for $0.99 at Movie Stop because it had a pentagram on the DVD (it came in a regular clear DVD case). Had there been an actual box with it that said "a remake of the Omen starring that naked alien from The Faculty and the Borg Queen" I wouldn't have spent a nickel on it.I watched the first twenty minutes or so before realizing that the movie made absolutely no attempt to differentiate itself from "The Omen" and turned it off.If you've ever watched The Omen save the dollar you can purchase this movie with and buy a refreshing Coke instead. If you haven't watched the Omen, then I suppose you could watch this, it's not really that different, except it appears from the beginning to maybe have a happier ending. Again, I didn't finish it.I give it a 3 because it has a little better acting and special effects than a Shock-O-Rama flick, but then again, it's less original and has absolutely no nudity, let alone any lesbian sex (from what I can gather from the first twenty minutes which had several great opportunities for nudity).

The Calling is an interesting thriller in the vein of The Omen. Lush landscapes and a fantastic soundtrack compensate for a slow, plodding pace, and a murky, hodge-podge plot. Laura Harris is convincing enough as the mother of the Antichrist (nice performance by Alex Roe), and Richard Lintern plays the part of the smarmy husband very well. The revelation of the true purpose of the character, Carmac (Francis Magee), was a huge surprise. While certainly worth seeing, the pace does detract from the overall film. Still, I liked it enough to stick with it and I would view it again. The party scene near the end is the most lively part of the whole movie, and a very good part. The Calling fits well for a movie made in 2000, as it seems entertainment at the start of a new decade is usually sort of experimental, in what appears to be attempts at finding answers to an uncertain future. Premiered on Lifetime tonight.

No, seriously, i saw lots of films talking about Antichrist but this one is a load of crap, actors seem boring, script is filled up with pouncing patterns (blood, upside down crosses, number 666, Christ stigmas...). Finally it really looks like a painful "Rosemary's baby" remake, made for those who like gory movies. Polanski's doesn't show but suggests and it's very much frightening.
