I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

A story collection created by John Carpenter and Toby Hooper, which was made for cable by Showtime in the mid 90's, as often happens with J.C., I was impressed. It has some weird moments and various cameos by several horror directors, which was a very nice touch. It looks like ripoff from The Tales from the Crypt but believe me it is not... Whole movie is narrated through the host himself as a dead man in the morgue, who is alive and talking about dead bodies that just came to the morgue and their stories how they died. First story is about a serial killer wanted by police, who kill ladies near gas stations; second story is about an insecure bald guy who wants to have long hair and his stubborn view on his problem was really funny and gross in some ways and finally the third and the last story was about a baseball player who in his prime career loose his eye and must continue his life without it but on his luck he meets a doctor that wants to do a transplantation of a new eye as an experiment to him. And when he gets the new eye all his world starts to fall apart..It is just pure fun and horror here if you like cheese horror of the 90's and the great John Carpenter... Wes Craven cameo, David Naughton, Sheena Easton and so many more.....this was absolutely awesome. For a fans of John Carpenter and Toby Hooper horror stories like Creepshow and etc. I truly recommend it!Overall rating: 8 out of 10.

This was a pilot episode for a possible series on Showtime. Showtime wanted to spend less money on it, so the idea was aborted and John Carpenter continued to make feature films. All three episodes are packed with guest appearances and cameos by many great actors and horror directors. Performances in all of them are excellent and each episode has a different tone and style. The first is somewhat of a slasher. The second is a bizarre comedy with sci fi elements. Both of those were directed by John Carpenter. The third is the darkest and is directed by Tobe Hooper. Body Bags has a lot of actors that are very talented, but very underrated that normally don't get to do this type of stuff like Robert Carradine and Mark Hamill. Stacy Keach is always excellent as well and does great here. As far as I am concerned the Tales From The Crypt series on HBO is the best anthology horror there is. Body Bags would have made a good series and could have been able to compete with it if it could maintain this sort of quality. John Carpenter is the host of this show and has the right delivery and the right hair to keep up with The Cryptkeeper.

Robert Carradine, Mark Hamill, Alex Datcher and Stacy Keach star in John Carpenter & Tobe Hooper's 1993 horror anthology film featuring 3 chilling tales. "The Gas Station" features a young woman (Datcher) who becomes hunted by a serial killer (Carradine) on her first night working at a gas station. "Hair" features a self-conscious man (Keach) who wants more hair, but must pay the price. "The Eye" features a baseball player (Hamill) who loses an eye and gets one from a dead killer effecting him mentally. Carpenter (Halloween) appears as a morgue coroner who presents the tales and directs the first 2. Hooper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) appears as a morgue surgeon and directs the last one. Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Deborah Harry (Blondie), Tom Arnold (True Lies), David Naughton (An American Werewolf in London), David Warner (In the Mouth of Madness), Peter Jason (Prince of Darkness), the late, George 'Buck' Flower (They Live), Twiggy (America's Next Top Model), Sheena Easton (For Your Eyes Only), Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead) and Roger Corman (The Silence of the Lambs) also appear. This follows in the footsteps of "Tales from the Crypt," it's not bad and features a good cast & gruesome make-up effects. I recommend this for Carpenter or horror fans.

There isn't much to say about this film, if you are horror movies fan, you gonna like it. This film is made in a same style as Creepshow and many other horror flicks. There is nothing special about it, but it does what it promises - to tell three great horror stories. All three stories were good. After i've watched Creepshow 2, I thought I would newer watch these kind of movies again, but this movie was much better than Creepshow 2. The first story was the best. It was made in Alfred Hitchcock's style when waiting of whats coming to you is the scariest part. The second story was more comical but still great. Deborah Harry had a small role in it. The third one was also good and I liked an idea of it very much.
