Your blood may run cold, but you now find yourself pinioned to the story.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

All that we are seeing on the screen is happening with real people, real action sequences in the background, forcing the eye to watch as if we were there.

The CIA is hard at work brokering a deal with some alien beings. On the case is charming, sleazy, and unflappable super agent Nick Pirandello (James Belushi, in the kind of role that fits him like a glove). Because another top agent involved was betrayed and gunned down, Nick must find a doppelganger for this man to complete the mission. He finds Bob Wilson (John Ritter), a wimpy, average guy in the insurance business. Bob is understandably very put out when his life is continuously put on the line, and doesn't believe himself cut out for this sort of thing. But in predictable enough fashion, Bob will gain self confidence, and Nick will likewise learn something about being "sensitive".The filmmaking debut for screenwriter Dennis Feldman ("The Golden Child"), this doesn't work all that well. Mostly, its attempts to be offbeat and clever just sort of fall flat, although it is mildly amusing to see top agents in clown garb, in one memorable bit. Some viewers may grow weary of it all, and have thoughts such as "What were they thinking?".The capable comic actors in the leads do their best with basically third rate material. Belushi and Ritter are well cast, and they do have their moments. Ritter once again proves himself adept at physical humour. There are a number of familiar faces in the supporting cast: Barbara Barrie, Mark Herrier, Suzee Slater, James Le Gros, Richard Brestoff, Brian Libby. However, what makes "Real Men" a curiosity for lovers of cult and exploitation cinema is seeing Dyanne "Ilsa" Thorne in a rare mainstream role as Belushis' *father*."Real Men" is likable enough, and on occasion it generates some chuckles, but again, that's because of the performers, not the script.Five out of 10.

Well, this was the 2nd time I saw "Real men" (2015) and I still remembered some scenes since 25 years ago. This is a movie with a naive ridiculous feel. Not so much as let's say "Airplane!" but you can still ...shoot people with your bare fingers! The premise is not so naive though. It poses a legitimate question that all the governments out there should consider. Do you want the Good package or the Big gun? Unfortunately they answer that, always with the latter. No one truly cares about the environment and the well being of people. They all want the Big gun. The raw power to control things.James Belushi and the late John Ritter are really good in this. There are some unexpected laughs (like in the "Dad" scene) but overall the scripted jokes are somehow weak with todays standards. It is a cheap looking movie. Nothing to write home about, but the 2 leads who aren't break character throughout the movie are make it worth watching.

this is kind of simple movie with small budget who get maximum fun of it I really enjoyed this movie I keep laughing all the way it has not some awesome story nor a plot or ending but it keeps simple and funny just a feel good movie i think that john Ritter and James Belushi are awesome actors and combination of both excellent choice it keeps you watching and real unexpected things happen I rarely laugh as much as on this movie some people maybe expected much more from it... but those people never look at budget nor at acting skills for example if you would put any other actors on that movie you would get totally other experience of it probably not worth to watch but Belushis and Ritter awesome acting made of this c movie a full A movie

James Belushi and John Ritter star in this 1987 action-comedy. A CIA agent, Nick (Belushi) is sent on a dangerous mission to work with insurance agent, Bob (Ritter) who looks exactly like an agent that was killed. They have to get to Washington D.C. by Friday for an exchange with UFOs. They have a map guiding them and a glass to fill with water for the space men. Along the way they meet weird women, face Russian agents and other agents dressed as clowns. Nick and Bob get off on a bit of a rough start, but become friends who work well with each other. I've always liked this film and James and John were great together. I recommend this good 80's action-comedy.
