The owner of a factory that produces flavor extracts, Joel Reynold seems to have it all, but really doesn't. What's missing is sexual attention from his wife, Suzie. Joel hatches a convoluted plan to get Suzie to cheat on him, thereby clearing the way for Joel to have an affair with Cindy, an employee. But what Joel doesn't know is that Cindy is a sociopathic con artist, and a freak workplace accident clears the way for her to ruin Joel forever.

Yawn. Poorly Filmed Snooze Fest.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

This movie caused me to laugh hysterically throughout many parts of the film. A lot of it was due to its unique plot. Hollywood particularly lacks uniqueness these days. Jason Bateman did not play the rude character that he plays in most of his films. He was likable and relatable. It bothers me how movies try to use these macho characters as their stars. It makes you care about the story much less because many people are not like them. The movie also deals with ordinary problems that many people have throughout the day. One of them was the interaction between Jason Bateman and his neighbor. It dealt with the frequent struggle to avoid situations like that. The ending with Kirsten Wiig was the only thing that was not relatable to me or many audience members. Besides that, it was almost completely to my liking.

This is not a super memorable movie but it's funny and has a great cast. Obviously most people are going to dig Office Space more than this. Office Space is a good movie and is definitely more memorable. I thought this movie had a great cast. Jason Bateman was great in it. I'm not a fan of Mila Kunis. Kristen Wiig was fine. The presence of J.K. Simmons was great. I liked Ben Affleck's presence but he could have played his role better. I thought he was too restrained. He should have played the role as Chuckie Sullivan as a stoner, but I still liked him. David Koechner to me was the closest thing to an Office Space character. This movie's soundtrack was very entertaining and much better than Office Space. I would much rather listen to She's All I Got by Johnny Paycheck, I Thank You by ZZ Top, and Rainy Day Woman by Waylon Jennings than any of the rap music from Office Space. This movie is forgettable but I still like it.

Extract is a decent movie with a reasonably well written storyline and a terrific comedic cast. It's a very enjoyable film in which most of its flaws are forgotten by the fact that it is simple fun, the cast all shine in their roles, with the likes of Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig and J.K. Simmons all starring, but the highlight for me had to be Ben Affleck, a huge star that I was very surprised to see playing a supporting role in a Mike Judge comedy, he is hilarious in all of his scenes and it is nothing like what we've seen before from him. The films biggest flaw is that it simply had more potential than it delivers, a comedy written and directed by Mike Judge, the mind that brought us King of the Hill, Beavis and Butt-Head and Office Space, with a stellar comedic cast like this seemed like an easy success, but it simply dosen't live up to its expectations. A lot of the jokes are very lame, there's several scenes where the characters take drugs and it's funny fur a few minutes, but it just keeps going, I found Mila Kunis's role irritating, her dialogue with Bateman is very poorly written and her character didn't make me laugh once, there is a lot of well written jokes here, such as the scenes between Kristen Wiig and Dustin Milligan, but there's too many parts that are straight up dumb. Certainly has its moments but misses far too often, Extract is still worth the watch if you ever see it on television, but don't go out of your way to see it. A hapless factory boss's life crumbles after a workplace accident and his own marriage is in trouble. Best Performance: Ben Affleck

In a star studded lineup, the film follows Joel (Jason Bateman), the proud owner of an extract company he built from the ground up. Life seems to be going as per normal, when issues begin to arise and spiral quickly out of control from all aspects of his life. The film also focuses on Cindy (the stunning Mila kunis) who's life of petty crime intercepts Joel's and his company through a series of events leading up to it. The film was not only written by Mike Judge, but also directed by him. In no disrespect to Mike, its a very simple and slow paced movie, with no twists and turns, action or fancy shots; but on the same token, doesn't require any for it to still be an enjoyable watch. I feel Mike's aim was to relate with the viewer, as it follows a normal guy, who OK, does drive a nice car, has a big house and owns a successful business - which not all of us have the privilege to boast - but nonetheless falls into difficult times through no fault of his own. There's not too many people who haven't been in a relationship that at some point has soured and lead to temptation, nor has someone not been exposed to wrong doings by others. And everyone's had or unfortunately still has an annoying neighbour, played very amusingly by David Coechner (better known as Champ Kind in Anchorman.)It times like this when we turn to our friends, which in Joel's case was to Dean (Ben Affleck) who although polar opposite in his outlook on life, provides some strange but tangible advise that seems to only make things worse at first. If you're expecting a clean cut Ben Affleck in this film, then you'll be mistaken. Think long hair, a beard and a hippie personality and you'll be closer to the mark.Although slow and somewhat predictable, it provides a generous amount of subtle humour throughout, which at times will simply put a smile on your face but at others will have you in stitches of laughter. Combined with a down to earth story line (which ends in true Hollywood fashion) will leave you in good spirits after a pleasurable 92 minutes of viewing. The eye candy provided by Mila doesn't go a miss either!
