The nerds are now in control of the university, as a result of Lewis Skolnick and the rest's actions in the two previous movies. A new generation of sportsmen arrive, however, determined on winning the school back. The principle, himself an ex-nerd fighter, helps them, and the nerds return to suppression. Harold Skolnick needs help from his uncle Lewis, the hero of the first two movies. Lewis, however, are not too proud of his nerd past, and won't reveal any of it, much less help his nephew. However, his wife makes him change his mind, and with help from his friends from the first two movies, they start the fight to win the school back, using classic nerd tricks.

There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.

Your blood may run cold, but you now find yourself pinioned to the story.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Revenge of the Nerds III (1992) 1/2 (out of 4) Made-for-TV sequel is pretty horrid and a real insult the even the second film in the series, which was pretty bad on its own. This time out we have a fresh group of nerds showing up at Atoms College, which has pretty much been nerd friendly for the past decade. Soon Stanley Gable (Ted McGinley) is hired as Dean and he plans on making the college more jocks but the gang from the original movie has other plans. You can file this one under the "what the heck where they thinking" section because if someone wanted to kick start the franchise why on earth make it a pathetic made-for-TV movie? Okay, movies for television can be pretty good but the production values here are so cheap and the story so bad you're really going to feel like you're watching an episode of Saved by the Bell: The College Years. I'm really not sure where to start but I guess we'll begin with the two new leads who are downright annoying, pathetic and just unlikeable. The key behind the first film is that we liked the characters but that's not the case here as all of the newbies are just annoying and you can't help but want to pick on them as well. Another major problem are the characters from the first movie as they too are underwritten and come off looking like cheap, fake copies of the originals. Curtis Armstrong, McGinley, Julie Montgomery and Robert Carradine are just a few of the folks brought back here and more get dragged into the film at the very end for brief cameos. I really like the idea of bringing back the original group but if they were going to go through all the trouble of getting everyone signed it looks like they would have spent some extra time on an actual story. What we have here is just one bad sequence after another and we know where it's all going to go as we get the typical tired story of the nerds having to fight yet again. This here is a real mess of a movie and a major insult to the original film. The only reason this thing avoids a BOMB rating is due to McGinley and Carradine sharing a few nice moments when they first meet up after all these years.

I recently bought the "atomic wedgie" edition of the Revenge of the Nerds. It has all the four movies, so I watched Revenge of the Nerds III: The Next Generation this afternoon and once again after looking at the IMDb rating, I was a bit scared on what to expect, but so far, I'm really liking these movies. Yeah, they're a bit ridicules, not to mention that I think Revenge of the Nerds III: The Next Generation took a different direction than the original Nerd film, but it's all good. I thought it was actually a fun story and a new introduction of all nerds uniting together and showing who really takes care of the jocks in the world.Lewis has now turned himself into a huge stud and is living with his wife, Betty. His nephew and his nephew's friend have gone to the same college and have joined the Lamb's, but we have a new dean in town, Stan is back! He and an alumni of the school are joining together to ban all nerds from the town. The nerds call on Lewis to get back to his nerd roots and help them take over the town, hopefully Lewis can get past this silly smooth operator appearance, because it's not working for him or the nerds that need him most.Revenge of the Nerds III: The Next Generation is nothing special, but it still has a few laughs. I really didn't think it was bad, at least not as bad as the rating would on IMDb led me on. Revenge of the Nerds III: The Next Generation is just a fun movie that I think people need to be open too, it's a different direction in the story but it works over all. So just give it a shot, I think you'll actually enjoy this story, after all, everyone's gotta love the nerds.5/10

Revenge of the Nerds III (1992) was one of several made-for-t.v. movies that premiered on FOX. Even though this one is a slight improvement over the last movie it's still bad. I don't even know why the FOX network bothered showing this movie. Although it has a more interesting story and a return of several characters, the end results are not satisfactory. But if you're a big Revenge of the Nerds fan, you'll be in "nerd" heaven. Others stay away.A slight improvement over the horrendous part II, Revenge of the Nerds III is a bad movie. I can't recommend something like this. Watch if you must but don't say I didn't warn you!Not recommended.

One of the funniest movies ever made!!! Those nerds just kill me! I couldn't stop laughing throughout the whole movie. These "Revenge of the Nerds" movies get better with each sequel. This one ranks up there with "Airplane" and "Something About Mary" among the best comedies ever made. I can't wait to rent "Revenge of the Nerds: Part 4". Hopefully it will be as good as this one. My only complaint about this movie was that Gilbert didn't really appear in this movie. He made a cameo appearance at the end but it was a different actor. Which brings to mind, one question. What was Anthony Edwards thinking when he turned down a part in this movie masterpiece? Thankfully, he didn't make the same mistake twice and later chose to do ER.
