In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.

For a vampire movie, then the blood within the veins of "Dead Cert" was running awfully thin. The story is about a group of Romanian thugs who move in on a British club owner, wanting to take over his business. Settling it all with a single fight, the Romanian wins and they take over the club, soon turning everyone within into vampires. However, the British gangsters want their club back and take up the fight against the vampires. The storyline was fairly simple, and it was a good enough attempt at trying to mix the traditional vampire genre with the gangster genre, however, it took the movie more than halfway of its entire length before it got up in pace and started to become interesting. A sad fact, though, as I am sure many would fall through out of sheer boredom before that even happens. Then when the movie does pick up pace, it is nothing more than a mediocre experience. Not boasting a super big budget is reflected in the production value, although I will say that I found that aspect of the movie to actually be good. They made what they had work and clearly didn't need a big million dollar (or pound) budget. However, the movie was just weighed down by a slow pace and a fairly uninspiring story. As for the acting in the movie, well they did have some pretty good names on the cast list. Jason Flemyng (playing Chelsea Steve) had a small role, though his face always brings something great to a movie. Dexter Fletcher (playing Eddie Christian) also did a good job. Billy Murray (playing Dante Livenko) was the centerpiece of the movie, so to speak, with the most impressive role and performance. And lets not forget Steven Berkoff (playing Kenneth Mason) was also in the movie. For a vampire movie, then "Dead Cert" was below average. It just lacked that motivation, characters that had personalities and weren't just generic characters, and most importantly, it lacked that special dark, romantic feel to it that all good vampire movies have.So if you enjoy vampire movies, perhaps "Dead Cert" is not the best of choices, but still it did provide adequate entertainment, though I can honestly say that I will never watch it again, it just wasn't that appealing.

I have not yet seen this movie but for somebody to say British accents are a problem is totally pathetic! If you are not British or do not understand Engish then yes you may have a problem! Us British make some of the best movies there are without necessarily needing a big Hollywood budget or name. We make them based on quality of acting and script etc and do not necessarily need special effects and big Hollywood names! This person who said this in his review should have it removed as he has no idea what he is talking about!Again I cannot comment at this stage on the movie but felt compelled to remark on a such a shallow idiot like this who needs an eduction it seems!

It's always dangerous to mix to genres together especially when it has been done before. Face it, if you watch this British production then you surely will be reminded of From Dusk Till Dawn. Here we have gangsters in the first 45 minutes fighting against some Romanian thug. But once the Romanians have taken over the property of the Brits the Brits decide to take it all back. Wrong, the Romanians aren't just criminals, they are creatures of the night. So far so good. The positive thing is the fact that it's spoken in cockney accent and I like that accent very much. Naturally they use slang but for those not understanding it all they included subs. The actors are all well known faces in the UK scene and some you will recognise from for example Perry Banson who played dad in Mum And Dad. Craig Fairbrass from Devil's Playground and others due appeared in blockbusters like Clash Of The Titans. So the acting was believable. My only problem was the fact that it took a bit of time before the vampires arrived. Once they were there the red stuff do flows but it never becomes gory and sadly some of the red stuff is CGI. It's a weird flick, the chicks look awesome at the club and the acting was okay but it did lack a bit of real horror. Nevertheless, it was great to see all those actors together but the story failed a bit...Fun to see Eleanor James again, sadly she didn't say anything and was only at the background. Common, you can do better...Gore 2/5 Nudity 0/5 Story 2/5 Effects 2/5 Comedy 0/5

Yikes! What a complete and total waste of film. It's a bore fest. I'm not really sure why so many directors these days think that slow means dramatic. It means borrr-ring!You know the plot -- tuff guys with a fight club get involved with these businessmen and somehow vampires get involved! It's an amazingly dumb story line made worse by the slowest exposition on the planet.I lost major interest about half way through and so will you. Avoid it like the plague.
