So-so. Clearly an attempt to plagiarise the Quentin Tarantino style of film- making, especially the swagger and dialogue. However, mostly just comes off as a lame imitation. Some scenes and actions seem lifted straight out of Tarantino movies.Part of the problem lies in the casting. Thomas Jane and Aaron Eckhart don't have the swagger and delivery necessary for a Tarantinoesque role. Or maybe it is just the fact that writer-director Skip Woods is no Quentin Tarantino.

This is one of those movies that make watching a lot of lower budget, often overlooked movies well worth it.Casey (Thomas Jane) is a former L.A. drug dealer that has married, moved to Houston and walked the straight and narrow for the last 3 years. On a Thursday, his ex-partner , Nick (Aaron Eckhart) comes to town and stops by for a visit. Nick leaves a suit case full of drugs on the guest bed and takes off to take care of business. Casey finds the drugs, flushes them down the kitchen drain, and blood, mayhem and and a whole host of interesting characters come out of the woodwork. This movie isn't a family one to say the least, but if you enjoy such Tarantino classics like Reservoir Dogs, and Pulp Fiction then like me, you will love this one. There's a lot of swearing, blood, laughs, and generally odd craziness in this one.It is an over the top, low budget movie that contains a lot of big names and is worth checking out especially if you love the aforementioned movies. It is definitely one of my hidden gem movies.Like my reviews, hate em? Comments, hate mail, or is there a particular DVD you would like reviewed? Just post me an e-mail at [email protected]

It's hard to describe this movie in any other words other than "total crap".It manages to be full of violence and confrontation, and still be totally dull, stupid, and without entertainment value, without educational value, without realistic value, without theatrical value, without amusing value, okay, lets just say "without value".It starts off with a gorgeous woman being murdered for trying to do her job. Apparently, it's cool to the Nazis and women because she's got dark hair, and is probably poor, working at a menial job, so there is a fan base there, but no heterosexual guy could like it.But even as a chick flick, it is hard to imagine even a woman liking this waste. There's nothing interesting. The people aren't interesting, the dialog isn't interesting, and nothing seems natural. It looks like actors getting together, smoking pot, and making a movie.I can't say there's a plot, because if there is, you'll sleep through it. It's duller than "Equus".This movie would make Richard Burton look interesting (and that's no crack on his acting. He's a great actor, but his technique was "realism to the point of boredom").There's the nazi fan base, and the women, and maybe some gay people, though I hate to put down gay people. And this clique tries hard to sell this movie with excessive votes on utube and probably IMDb. Those who would vote against it just don't bother to vote, or forget what this movie was.It was total crap.

This movie is excellent. Not because it does anything special or new, but because it is consistently great in all of its parts. No part stands out as being "ground-breaking" or "stellar", but all parts are far above mediocre, and that makes, to me, an excellent movie.I own several copies of this movie, and may acquire it on collectors DVD or Blu-Ray, someday (holding off right now due to high blu-ray prices, and of course the face that I don't have a blu-ray player... but that's beside the point of this review). It stars off sort of ordinary, but quickly turns into a drama filled with tension, some action, strongly portrayed characters, and a well though out plot which keeps you interested until the very end.Wait, no, it does NOT start out ordinary. It starts out sort of like what a Qun. Tar. movie WISHES it could be. With an awesome scene where an attempt to buy coffee and a donuts goes... very, very wrong.By the end of the movie, nothing was as it seemed, and a few people are dead, and a few people are very rich. I won't tell you who... watch and enjoy! Overall rating: 10/10, A**, Excellent!
