All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

Is this Gujarat really in India ? So much abundance of every thing, people having no other business than dressing in their so-called traditional attires, dancing and singing at the slightest provocation, eating at mile-long tables, and that joker Salman Khan trying to woo Aishwarya, who overacts to no limits! After Hum Aapke Hain Kaun ?, this another painfully lengthy, loud, unrealistic,over-dramatic movie i have seen. And it goes on and on, having not much substance in the first half, and some illogical situations in the second half. Sum total? Helpless wait to see the end, suitable for our so-called values taught by Indian Cultural Academy. Same plot line , give it to any sensible director, or an artistically inclined Bengali director, and they would have spun gold out of it, by capturing the dynamics, the tensions, and not to speak about the dialogs. What Bhansali as a director is interested into ,is nothing else but stunning the audience with his extravaganza , locations abroad, and establishing Salman - Ash as the most romantic pair of Bollywood. But both of them prove to be rather irritating, no matter how much hard they try ! Compared to them, Ajay gives a restrained and leveled performance, and does well, as a frustrated yet a loving man, who has married a wrong girl; actually he is a relief in this movie. An overdose of idiotic melodrama, costume parades, fake situations.. that's what the likes of Bhansali feed our gullible crowds in India and abroad. Is it possible that the truth will dawn on these guys one day, that all the viewers are not as vulnerable and low in intelligence quotient as they conveniently think ? Carry enough pop corn , to bravely sit through this movie ,to last it till the even more stupid and anti-climax of an end.

This film is one of the worst melodramas I have ever seen. The plot is witless and contrived, the songs are boring and the acting is wooden. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse, some ridiculous plot twist comes flying in from the clouds. I am no fan of Salman Khan and while I am still willing to give Ash a chance, this film is the sort of junk that gave her a bad reputation in the first place.I will say, however, that the photography and sound were good, so it wasn't completely painful to watch. It's only bad when you pay attention to the actors or the script. You have better things to do with your time, believe me.

Bhansali made Khamoshi and though getting high ratings by critics the film was rejected by audience. With HDDCS Bhansali has won the confidence of both critics and audience.Nandini(Aishwarya Rai) falls in love with Sameer(Salman Khan), a music disciple of her father.Sameer also deeply loves Nandini. But her conservative father is against the relationship and sends Sameer back to Italy ,where he came from.He marries off Nandini to Vanraj(Ajay Devgan).Vanraj comes to know about the relationship between Nandini and Sameer. He then ,defying the society, decides to take nandini to Italy to hand her over to her love,Sameer. And then starts the beautiful journey of love, affections, confusions and hesitations all of which I think are the beauty of human emotions. Ajay is awesome and the movie is a must watch just because of his performance. He has perfectly portrayed an ordinary looking, shy yet bold guy. Aishwarya delivers her best performance ever as an aggressive and defying lady.Salman looks good in his nonsense "cool guy" act.But He gets over that nonsense stuff and delivers in the climax. The music of the movie is a class act by Ismail Darbar. Songs like "Aankhon ki Gustakhiyaan" and "Chaand Chhupa" will always be remembered.Kavita Krishnamurthy is fabulous.Kay Kay has delivered his best with "Tadap Tadap ke".Hariharan's "Jhonka Hawa ka" is one of the best songs I have ever heard. One of the best movies I've ever seen. It won't disappoint you.

and here she plays a pretty little daddy's girl, sheltered away from the world in a palace type setting until an Italian-Indian student (played by Salman Khan) comes to town and steals her heart. Luckily but also sadly enough for her, her father and Khan's music teacher realises this before he (Khan) is able to steal his daughter's innocence and sends him packing. The problem is, the two youngsters are so in love and not even distancing them would set them apart. A new man comes into the picture, a local whom the whole family loves (played by Ajay Devgan) and marries Nandini (Rai) but little does he know that this is the beginning of a nightmare rather than honeymoon. Nandini is set in her ways and while she has married this man, she vows never to let him touch her. Frustrated, Devgan's character decides to take Nandini to Italy for a selfless search of Khan's character. All sorts of things happen to them along the way, and this tests Nandini's love for both men. All of this occurs under the backdrop of great music, song and dance numbers, awesome set designs, locales etc. etc. It is the ending that makes this film a true classic, as well as the superb acting of the entire cast! Rai won her first Filmfare (India's answer to the Oscars) for her role as the tempestuous Nandini.
