Lack of good storyline.
Excellent, a Must See
it is the rare 'crazy' movie that actually has something to say.
True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
...that was just a lousy try. Yes, I saw death, blood and murder, but that try of humour was so sad it's tragic!
Don Champagne (Patrick Wilson) appears to live the ideal life, at least the ideal life his wife Mona (Katherine Heigl) desires. She has their life planned and keeps a scrap book "goal book" which she reads religiously. If by some stupid chance you peeked at the DVD cover, you know she will do anything to keep her life on an even keel. However, there appears a boat rocker to her plans. Our happy couple has sex 6 times a year and only when it is on the calendar. Don hires major league babe Dusty (Jordana Brewster - I need to watch D.E.B.S. again.) who throws herself at him causing blackmail complications that can only have the expected final solution. "There is ever only my way."Yes. this is another quirky housewife psycho killer film, most of which were a bit better, which is not to say this wasn't entertaining. The kids provided a good side story of competing siblings with the boy Andrew (Aiden Flowers) losing out to Alison (Madison Wolfe) to the dismay of dad. They needed to have one or two mores scenes with the kids to make for a good subplot and to help establish character and maybe bring out that which we may not speak, because gutting and dismemberment is an option.Would make for an excellent rental or one to add to your nice quirky killer collection. People who like this film might want to check out "Miss Meadows."Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity (Steffie Grote, Catherine Ashton + background strippers)
I actually like Katherine Heigl in this black comedy role as a more demented version of a Stepford Desperate Housewife. She acts well and it's a refreshing difference from romantic comedy. Patrick Wilson is good as her weak silly and quite hilarious unfaithful spouse. Jordanna Brewster is skinny and comically sexy as his mistress who blackmails him. This suburban tale of infidelity and murder is a funny black comedy that has some good moments especially between husband and wife. The kids have a few good scenes too. Worth a watch for the comic talent and a more or less enjoyable tale.
Don Champagne (Patrick Wilson) seems to live the American Dream; he has a successful family business selling furniture; he lives in a comfortable house in the suburbs; he has the perfect wife Mona Champagne (Katherine Heigl) and the perfect children Allison (Madison Wolfe) and Andrew (Aiden Flowers). However Mona is a cold woman that schedules the days that Don may have sex with her. When Don hires the gorgeous saleswoman Dusty (Jordana Brewster) to work with his salesman Les (Jim Belushi), they have a torrid love affair. Soon Dusty tells to Don that she is pregnant and has the intention of keeping the baby. Don does not have money that belongs to Mona but Les offers to lend some money to him. He offers thirteen thousand dollars to Dusty, but she blackmails him. Without any way out, Don discloses his affair with Dusty to Mona and she tells that he must kill Dusty to protect their family. But what they do not know is that Dusty is a swindler and lover of a dangerous gangster and his gang wants to take money from the Champagne family."Home Sweet Hell" is a very dark joke with the American Dream. Don and Mona seem to have the perfect life, but there is a sex problem between them. When Mona sees the risk of her programmed life be shattered by a blackmailer, she does not hesitate to get rid of the woman. The black humor is too dark and the conclusion with Mona totally out of control is inconsistent with her personality. My vote is five.Title (Brazil): "Lar Doce Inferno" ("Home Sweet Hell")
