if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

Worth seeing just to witness how winsome it is.

One word, horrible.I can understand the use of late 1950s armor, since only 3 King Tigers were left in museums. But this movie is horrible.General Omar Bradley disliked this movie for its inaccurate portrayal of a battle he was personally involved in.The worst part is the ending battle in a desert. This event is meant to portray the battle of Celle, where 2nd Panzers Meause River crossing was stopped cold. But it was cold. Freezing! Fought in the frozen snow covered Ardenne Forest. Band of Brothers or a Midnight Clear show the harshness of the battle.Or reading a book on the battle. As a former tanker I went thru many a winter in Europe, so my dislike of this movies treatment of Veterans hits home.My uncle fought in the Bulge battle in the 4th Armored Div. and I know he would of not liked this movie had he lived to see it.

far to be easy to write something reasonable about it. for the fans of war films, it is a must see. for the admirers of actors - a good stone for define the filmography. for the admirers of the films from the 6-7 decades, it is a film under each expectation. because it represents only a meet of cast, sketches of characters, the story as pretext for dialogues and humor not real inspired. a film who gives the portrait of brave American soldier only as an unfinished drawing. sure, this is an option. but, maybe, not the most inspired.

This movie shouldn't have been titled "Battle of the Bulge;" but, instead, something else; and, it would have sat better with veterans of that battle. It's a great war movie, but, due to its title and many, many inaccuracies, the movie was panned by many knowledgeable critics; as well as many high-ranking generals; officers; and, soldiers, who actually fought at the real "Battle of the Bulge." They gave credit to certain US Army Units that weren't really there; and, gave no credit to those that were!?!? Dwight D. Eisenhower actually 'walked-out' of the theater shortly after the beginning of this movie! That's a "MONUMENTAL" kick-in-the-balls!Even the equipment was wrong (I guess that the Spanish Army didn't have any Shermans (like the Yugoslavians for "Kelly's Heroes"); nor, King Tigers. The Americans used after-World War 2 Sheridan tanks as Shermans; whereas, the Germans used after-World War 2 Patton tanks as Tiger 2s (King Tigers)...and, Joachim Peiper, the German Panzer Leader of the tank assault at "The Battle of the Bulge," was never even mentioned once; as wasn't the German tank "ACE" of World War 2, Michael Wittmann (although, he wasn't in this battle, this was mainly a 'tank assault,' and, as "THE" overall German tank ACE, should have been mentioned!?!?). That was as careless as not mentioning The Red Baron in a World War I movie about fighter pilots. These, and, many other inaccuracies, upset many military people and historians who knew of this battle; many, first-hand.Like with the movie "Battleground" (1949), they should have had soldiers who could have added technical advice. As a "WAR MOVIE" under a different title, it's GREAT! As "THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE,"...not so much.Although I like the movie, and, gave it an 'eight,' if it was accurate - I'd have given it a 10!Many of my favorite movie stars of this era are in this movie! :)

Despite impressive battle scenes, and an all-star cast(Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson, Telly Savalas, Robert Ryan, Robert Shaw, among others) this World War II adventure based on the true story is too bloated and long to succeed. Plot details how American forces in France were waiting to enter Germany, and end the war, when the Nazis launch a surprise counter-offensive that catches the allies off guard in the late 1944 winter. Film is further hampered by too many subplots off a soap-opera nature(lost loves, doomed romances, etc.) that only bog down a film that needed an infusion of energy. Not without some interest and entertainment value, but a missed opportunity.
