Afternoon Delight (2013)

Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

If there is a film, that truly depicts, how it is to be and feel as a woman, then this is it. At least for me every second of it was true. It's a gem in array of films made by men and the way they think woman is and should be.

Sometimes small films are good enough to highlight the good and bads of society. But the thing is they won't to everybody. This is not a message film, but about doing good. Self is important, but still you can care for other than yourself. It was about an average modern day couple. They come across a young woman working in a strip club and try to support her to give up it to live a normal life like them. They know the risk of letting her in, so what comes later is a trouble that affects the family and friendship.You won't believe that it was one of the Tarantino's top ten films of the year 2013. I find it not bad as well. But surely it should have been better. Feature film directional debut for the writer and producer. From the woman filmmaker, women oriented film drama. Fun to watch, yet a very serious thematic. From the cast side, both, Kathryn Hahn and Juno Temple were good. Surely a delightful film if you are not anticipating a big from it.6/10

Afternoon Delight tells the story of a woman living a mundane life seeking something more. In doing so she a adopts a young stripper and over time build a connection with her. Inspite of the films relatable and slightly unconventional premise it is executed in a very bland uninteresting way. To some up what I'm saying I felt this film was lost potential. As lover of film I admire any piece of work that try's something new and experimental. But sense the movie plays it so safe it becomes devoid of anything else then slightly above average. The acting is meh and the characters are flat. The music although not displeasing to listen to has a simple by the book upbeat tune to it. And the cinematography although not incompetent was all about getting the shot. This makes this film visually boringIn conclusion I recommend this movie as some nice, simple, unconventional fluff and not much more. I think you could easily enjoy it, but if you want a bit more substance then I would look elsewhere.6/10

The movie captured like no other movie the situation for more than a few at this time and era we live in.The acting at times was superb. Kathryn Hahn drunk and relating to her girlfriends was astounding and needs to be given some recognition.Most overdue this type of scene but she played it like it really could be the case The inner angst that she was having to deal was terrificthe writing and the directing were extraordinaryThe pace of the movie was perfect yet was unpredictableThe supporting cast were great as well.It is exceptional to see a movie that is real.
