Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

This movie is absolutely horrible. It is not scary. It is not exciting or thrilling. It has no cool action. There is no good drama. It is no good.Very rarely I watch a movie that agitates and annoys me, makes me mad, simply put. This is one of them. The only thing I really remember is that in all the chase scenes, or whatever, scenes where someone is running, the one trick they taught the cast before shooting, was the lamest wall-run trick you can imagine. Like one step on the wall, about two feet above the ground. This poor, sloppy, super simple wall-run, well, wall-step that absolutely anyone can do, is supposed to show off unique abilities..? And it is so overused. Embarrassing. This movie is a waste of your time, it has close to no redeeming qualities.

This is one of my all time favorite books. I had been surfing Netflix, and I saw that they made a movie for it several years ago. I was so excited to watch this, I couldn't wait. I've seen a lot of people say that you can't compare the book to the movie, but you have to if it says that it was based on the book! Okay.Blood and Chocolate was based in modern day Maryland. Vivian and her MOTHER (who didn't die in the book) moved with the rest of the pack due to suspicion of their werewolf heritage, because Axel killed a girl. Vivian's father died in a fire, not by being shot. Vivian painted and drew in her downtime, and her high school teacher persuaded her to apply a painting to a magazine. She met Aiden Teague (that was supposed to be his last name) because she wanted to know who had written the poem opposite her painting in the magazine. She fell in love with him. Aiden was a hippie, kind of a throwback to the sixties as Vivian's art teacher would say, and he was interested in things such as witches, vampires and werewolves (loup- garou). Vivian took this as a way of him saying that he would accept her in her true form. Vivian showed him her wolf form, and he was terrified. She was ashamed, so she left. Astrid (who was not her aunt, in fact, Astrid couldn't stand Vivian or her mother) Began killing people making Vivian anxious and making her seem like she was the one who was killing people. Astrid is not Rafe's mother. Gabriel is not Rafe's father. Astrid was Ulf's mother, and I don't think they ever mentioned Rafe's father. Rafe's mother was Renata. This movie made me sick. It was pitiful, and the acting, dialogue, and special effects were all sub-par. Overall, this movie sucked. If you haven't read the book and are into craptacular movies like this, then by all means, watch it. Don't blame me for the two hours of your life that you're wasting. This movie is awful.

as usual books to movies always screw up somewhere, so not surprised they royally ruined one of my favorite young adult books.the only thing it had going for it was the use of actual wolves instead of that lame ugly beast form that most wares in movie possess.the same can be said for Van Helsing and twilight, they got the wolves right!if you haven't read the book, the movie is entertaining and enjoyable I much preferred Aiden in the movie compared to the book.but of course books are always better than movies but you can't have everything!

This movie sucked. I read the book and loved it so watching this was really sad. It totally strays from the original plot line. The book is set in the US and the characters are totally different. They are all younger in the book than in the movie,Vivian doesn't live with her aunt, Aiden is supposed to be a hippie and Gabriel is the badass but not the bad guy. Most annoying is the ending of the movie because Vivian kills Gabriel and runs away with Adien, but in the book she ends up with Gabriel and the pack. Even though I mainly hated the movie because of its changes to the book I also didn't like the movie itself. It just seemed dated and old, I didn't think it was filmed in 2007. Also, the actors that were cast didn't fit to me. Overall, how it was all put together sucked.
