Barefoot (2014)

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

Barefoot is a different kind rom-com, but it is a rom-com none the less. It uses themes most wouldn't normally think of when writing a rom-com but it works none the less mental health is always a serious issue and remains so in this movie. The main actors in the movie I'd never heard of before but both give strong and convincing performances. I like the story line along with the twist that really makes the movie that much better. I have now watched it somewhere around 10 times and will watch several more times I'm sure. If you want a movie you can watch with your family or to help with the setting for a date night this will work. One of the best I've seen it just works.

I enjoyed the premise of this movie, but it felt like there were pieces missing from the storyline. There wasn't enough backstory on either of the leads, the mother seemed to jump from meeting a stranger to all of a sudden becoming besotted with her, and the films synopsis focused on an arc that was over by the middle of the movie. There is so much that should have been added to the storyline that would made it a bit more likable. The characters were enjoyable, especially Daisy and her naiveté although these characters would have been better received (once again) if the story was fleshed out a bit more. Not a waste of time, but also not a story I'd return to.

How many times has this 'igganunt' story been hashed out? Smart(?) handsome young man falls in love with a mentally disturbed yet beautiful young girl. Everybody cheers for the stupid chick and everybody loves the young handsome man because he has taken the 'igganunt' mentally disturbed beautiful young girl into his love starved heart. Think of that piece of crap '50 First Dates' . Why did I watch this movie? The girl Daisy (Evan Wood) belongs in a special institution for the mentally insane and he Jay (Scott Speedman) is about ten minutes from death because he has borrowed from the underworld to cover his gambling debts. These two meet and hit the road! HOW ORIGINAL! Then retard Daisy just charms Jay's ever-so rich family so much that they just squeal with delight that Jay has bagged a fish.All ends happily with all the expected bumps in between. Oh, and by the way, it's called 'Barefoot' because Daisy has no concept of what shoes are.Oh, what a stupid movie!!!!

so this is actually the second time i watch something for Scott Speedman, the first time i'v watched him was in the Underworld movies when he was serious guy vampire /wolf .. but he really fits in these kinda romance-comedy movies ,, the movie had its moments , some highs and lows ,, the plot is good and new and heartwarming. the script is written in a good way , no complications on following the events. you know when you watch a movie and you feel happy , smiling in a weird way in the end , yeah .. that's one of those. The story itself starts slow and there is some missing ideas and it's not that Hilarious ,, but it still felt nice . the casting was so good. so i think overall the movie worked out pretty well.
