It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

Brad 'B-Rad' Gluckman (Jamie Kennedy) and his crew are gangster wannabes from the hood of Malibu, California. His father Bill (Ryan O'Neal) is running for governor. Bess (Bo Derek) is his mother. He wants to join the political campaign but the political team hates the idea and he keeps screwing up. Tom Gibbsons (Blair Underwood) and his team come up with an idea to scare Brad straight by having amateur actors Sean James (Taye Diggs) and PJ (Anthony Anderson) kidnap him. The two white-bread actors recruit PJ's cousin Shondra (Regina Hall). This is a perfectly fine idea for spoof. I really like Anthony Anderson and Taye Diggs isn't that bad. They're almost funny trying to act black. The drawback is Jamie Kennedy. He's trying too hard to spoof the idea. It would work better if he committed to be serious. He seems to be doing it with a wink and a smile. It actually takes away from the comedic potential. He should be clueless, not act clueless.

Imagine watching a movie parodying the "hood" made by people who have never been to, met anyone from, or had any contact with the hood. That is this movie. I'm not just talking about Jamie Kennedy's character, who is supposed to be fake, I'm talking about the whole d**n thing. It was difficult to distinguish the actors who were supposed to be actors and the actors who were supposed to be "real gangstas", because all of the acting in this movie sucks. The first time I watched this movie I thought it was hilarious but the second time it just really rubbed me the wrong way... I don't know, maybe this just isn't my type of humor. The only reason I gave this three stars was because of the fight scenes, especially the Scarface-looking one where he was on the car screaming "AHHHHHAHAHAHAHA" like a nut... the one with all the gang members in the house facing that crew of Malibu people holding a f*****g whale harpoon and a rocket launcher was the only funny part of the movie IMO.

After watching this movie, I can watch again and its is still funny, I recommended it to my m8s and they love it too, hell they wanted to watch it again. Although Swardson could of had a bigger role but it all good mix, of humour and 8 mile,Terry Crews role was just hilarious, he can always make me laugh :O when is he gonna be a lead in a comedy???I love Kennedy work,I don't know about his song maybe he Should that go and keep making comedy films.Every character is great in this Most enjoyable. And Even people who are down with it. Love it!!! 8/10 "my uncle gave it to me for my birthday" you will laugh when you hear this quote occurs in the movie. Cant wait for 'Kickin it old Skool'.

Malibu's Most Wanted stars Jamie Kennedy as Bradley "B-Rad" Gluckman, prominently featured in his hidden camera show on the WB. B-Rad is a Jewish-American living the high life in Malibu, yet him and his white friends all act black and embrace hip-hop culture. B- Rad's unwanted rap performances causes problems for his father's governor campaign, so the campaign team hires two black actors to stage a kidnapping on B-Rad and attempt to "scare him black" by taking him through the SoCal hood.Kennedy performs his role very well and makes a hilarious character (He could use more work like this, not crap such as Son of the Mask), reflecting the "white suburban adolescent hiphop fan" demographic of America to a T. Anderson and Diggs play PJ and Sean, the two black Julliard actors that learn how to be "hood" in order to make their scam on B-Rad authentic. Joining them is Shandra (Hall) who actually lives in Compton (I think, w/e, some LA hood), who lets them stay in her house for the weekend. One of the funniest things in the film is the stark contrast between B-Rad and Sean & PJ, as B-Rad thinks he's black despite being white, whereas Sean and PJ are black but act very "white", i.e. proper grammar, nice clothes, expensive schooling, etc. Watching Sean and PJ perfect their gangsta personas is quite funny.I won't go any deeper into the characters and their actors, I will say that they all did a good job though. One thing that bothered me though was why Shandra got with B-Rad, it makes hardly any sense...it was bad romance on the writer's part. Other than that it flows decently plot-wise. This isn't a drama though, it's a comedy, so humor is where it matters. This movie was very funny, I was laughing out loud the entire first half. It's got a bunch of great scenes, and one-liners ("Heads or tails?" "Tizizails! .......I want tails, please.") I didn't feel the second half was too strong, as they spent too much time trying to wrap the plot up, not enough time on humor, but all in all it was still pretty funny. The only thing I thought was really stupid was the talking rat? What the hey? Were they just trying to get a part for Snoop Dogg to play? All in all, it's worth watching, and I'd watch it again. To appreciate the humor, one has to be familiar with white kids posing as blacks and some hip-hop culture, which might account for some of the lower ratings I've seen on here.
