Two untalented singers are mistaken for a pair of major league safe crackers in Providence, Rhode Island. I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

A few truly funny moments, but overall a complete mess.

'Safe Men' belongs to the genre of oddball comedies, meaning that it's got a distinct type of humour that may not appeal to everybody. For me, what made the movie work was the actors. Steve Zahn and Sam Rockwell form a hilariously rocking duo who get caught in the safe-cracking business when they are inadvertently hired by a fat don and his fat right hand man Veal Chops (played wonderfully by Michael Lerner and Paul Giamatti respectively) who mistaken them for the infamous Safe Men duo (Mark Ruffalo and Josh Pais) who have no clue of this. All six actors have excellent comic timing. I especially liked the on screen camaraderie and chemistry between Zahn and Rockwell both of whom easily have a natural flair for comedy. The low production value implies that the film was made on a low budget (not that there's anything wrong). The script itself has a few loopholes and the pace is slow at times. I would have preferred a different ending where Sam and Eddy don't separate. The female lead, Christina Kirk, lacks fire. Yet, it's overall a charming little funny film, at least for a one time watch, that can be enjoyed on a rainy day.

and 1999 and 2000 and well, I'd venture to say its one of the best indie comedies in perhaps 10 years or more! Thank you john hamburg and crew for treating audiences to a heapin helpin of veal chop, padded a$$, and mc "pimp limp" victor!

Not your cookie cutter "Dumb" comedy. Just little oddities that make you say, "What the hell was that all about?" Sam Rockwell and Steven Zahn have great comedic timing as well as a flair for understated physical comedy. It just made me laugh. . but I must warn that I've recommended this film to some of my friends, and it just didn't respond to their comedic sensibilities. Also, if you've ever been to a barmitzvah, the scene in the movie is just barely parody. Hilarious!7 out of 10 "Sweet 'stache dude."
