It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

It is so daring, it is so ambitious, it is so thrilling and weird and pointed and powerful. I never knew where it was going.

One of the more clever romantic movies, with an interesting SF-background (how does involuntary time travel impact a relationship?). There must have been some good influences when this movie was made. The budget was substantial and it shows, with good sets and locations. What's more important: by chance, after a few refusals, it end ended up being filmed by a director/director of photography team of German origin, who visibly enjoyed bringing that extra. We are treated to good nature shots, interesting camera-angles, and an alltogether good visual rhythm. The lead actors provide credible characters, though the depth from the book is missing in others. 'Ingrid' from the book is missing. On the other hand, the revised ending gains a lot by the young actress playing the daughter role. Thoroughly enjoyable, carefully and professionally made. And do read the book - there's so much more there, inclusing some rough stuff that got lost somewhere along the way to Hollywood.

Nothing makes me feel more soft and more warm than the softness of this in and out again dream within a dream. Although an impossibly true fantastic fantasy, this loving and warm movie is so endearing, it will stay within your heart till the end of time. I am not providing a summary of this movie but however an emotion that is evoked and felt in all totality upon watching and feeling every moment of this film. Watch it in quietness, watch it in happiness and watch it with those that you love. Let it surround you in a warm enveloping feeling.

I wanted to like this movie but the plot never came to fruition. There was so much that was left unexplained on top of that. The love story itself wasn't beautiful it was confusing and bizarre. I debated reading the book but I don't think it's worth it after watching this.

I was a huge fan of the book and while the movie didn't translate quite as well as I had hoped, ultimately I did enjoy it. I liked the casting with Eric Bana as Henry, a librarian with a rare genetic disorder that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through his lifespan without control. Rachel McAdams was also perfect as his lady love Claire, who has been in love with (and seeing) Henry her entire life.Even knowing the story I did find this confusing at times, trying to figure out "when" Henry was supposed to be. I think they could have solved this by altering his appearance a bit more than just adding a few strands of (unnoticeable) grey) hair. It also came across that his biggest problem with time jumping was finding clothes, as he was continually getting dressed or looking for clothes. The romance aspect was pretty good, decent chemistry, suitably poignant. I definitely felt sorry for Clare trying to build a life with a guy that disappears without warning all the time... hmmm actually that sounds familiar.Anyways an interesting idea for a romance that will appeal to those who like the time travel stories and a little heartbreak but probably not fans of the book. 10/25/15
