Truly Dreadful Film

Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.

The first must-see film of the year.

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

This movie is about an ordinary american family that faced the loss of one of its members by a member of a gang as a ritual to join the gang squad.During the movie you will see dark moments of how each member of the family reacted to the loss, the mother who did the least reaction and tried to get involved with home arrangements and going back with memory by watching home made videos, the brother who showed much response as he was closer to the lost brother, finally the father who saw that revenge by his own hands is the only way to equity.The movie has really dark dramatic sad moments and the director added to it by showing that on the faces of each character so closely and declaring it by the scenes of the brother which will really touch something in your heart.Finally, it's a drama, action and thriller movie with adequate amount of three of them, the moving between the events is really smooth and you will be entertained by the amount of killing with different methods.

One of better vengeance movies out there. A real modern day Death Wish that has the perfect formula to keep the audience engaged and rooting for Bacon's character every step of the way. One of Kevin Bacon's better roles in his spirited and active career. Always surprising us with each role he takes on. The action is pretty cool and crisp throughout, making for very slick sequences. A very good action film, but also just a very good film in general. Also, John Goodman and Garrett Hedlund are great as the films antagonists.

The acting is *so* bad, the writing *so* idiotic, that it works much better as a spoof of a revenge flick. Bacon and Goodman, who I generally think are very good actors, were awful. It's all truly laughable. The only redeeming quality was some of the chase scenes, which were well done. But even these scenes ended ridiculously. I was truly dumbfounded.

This movie turned out to be better than expected. The story was incredible.Nick Hume, played by Kevin Bacon, had the ideal life. He was a respected member in the community. He had a sustainable career, and so did his wife Helen Hume, played by Kelly Preston. He had two sons who were scholars and athletes. He could not ask for any more.But in a tragic accident, Hume's oldest son was brutally murdered by a gang. Hume tried to stop the gang members and was not successful, but he was able to identify the murderer. But if he were to testify against the murderer in court, even if convicted, he would not have received life in prison. So Hume decides to not testify, the charges were dropped, and Hume took matters into his own hands. Hume murders his son's murderer. Little did he know that action would create a ripple effect that would escalate to the gang to now attempt to kill the rest of his family.It was intense watching Hume evolve from his good self into an evil criminal that would do what it would take to protect his family from the gang that was now after him. Every person has a dark side, and Hume expressed his incredibly loud.
