Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

This is ultimately a movie about the very bad things that can happen when we don't address our unease, when we just try to brush it off, whether that's to fit in or to preserve our self-image.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

This Movie feels like one of those Classic thriller Movies of the 90s. In a positive sense that is. It's a not so complicated approach to a thriller, the stakes are fairly easy to get in to and, in general, the Movie doesn't spend too much time on potentially unnecessary details - i.e. not bloating. However, and this is in regards to some of the other Reviews for instance the Roger Ebert one, this is not a thriller from hell nor does it provide a hellish suspense. At times, although the positives above, the movie can feel a bit slow on the negative side. There are some characters that are too stereotyped, although well played. This include Kate Maras character Abby but also that of henchman Kolzak, played by Thomas Kretschmann. And the late transformation of Emily Mortimer's character, from liar to truthsayer is somewhat of a miss.Overall it is a movie worth giving a look. The locations are interesting and apart from the above mentioned it is well played and will provide enough suspense for a cosy evening with your favourite company. I have not been frightened enough to abandon the idea of going on the train myself.

The more of Harrelson I see, the more my respect for his work grows. We see his struggle to fight back at any cost. I seriously loved this film. This film has something which lots of films in this genre are missing, it has heart. Harrelson seems to have been born for this role. He has more one liners than any character in recent memory. Each line is typically vulgar but even if offensive it is near impossible not to laugh. Woody Harrelson has just the right cult status and persona for this type of film.Woody Harrelson's performance is terrific. There are some pretty funny scenes, and you will laugh from beginning to end. The small cast was obviously having a great time when they made it, and all four characters did a very good job of fitting with the style of the movie. And so our heroes all long for symbols of childhood: family, friends, old school amusement parks, babies, dogs, snack foods, 80s media, Betamax, community etc, anything that existed before the technological leaps of the early 90s escalated technocapitalism and ramped up the postmodern experience. But more so, these films reflect humanity's inability to even imagine or conceive of a future. It's a good movie, it actually is funny, all the blood (which there's plenty) fits alright.. The first thing I wanted to do when the credits began to scroll, was get up from my couch, find myself a cast-iron skillet and run outside to smash some brains! All in all it's worth watching. All the acting was good. So, yeah, why not, check it out. Woody Harrelson is unsurprisingly the movie's saving grace. He's got great one liners, and his charisma alone carried the movie for me.

Definitely something different, not your classical American crime movie. The movie really succeeded at making the atmosphere very intense, especially, when Jessie tried to dump the drugs somewhere multiple times. The movie felt very real, nothing too super shocking to make it look like a fantasy world, that's what was great about the movie. Really felt like i was in Russia while watching the movie. And of course - Ben Kingsley speaking Russian :D What can be better for a movie, although, if you can speak Russian, in my case, i found it very funny how he tried to pronounce all the words :D Nowhere close to Russian accent, but that's OK, everyone will forgive Ben Kingsley, of course, since his performance was great in this movie.

Stereotypical, "Russia - bad; USA - good" rubbish. I hated the female main character more than any other written character EVER. (This includes King Joffrey Baratheon from Game of Thrones!). She literally gets away with murder and convinces herself and everyone around her that she is a victim. The end shows the main character telling her murder victim's girlfriend where his body is so she can collect a shitload of cash. This same girl was tortured and beaten because of that main character but hey, water under the bridge. PATHETIC excuse for a film. The entire second half of the film I found myself anticipating the moment that bitch would get a bullet in her face. Alas, that moment never came. Disappointed to say the least!
