Galaxy Quest (1999)
For four years, the courageous crew of the NSEA protector - "Commander Peter Quincy Taggart", "Lt. Tawny Madison and "Dr.Lazarus" - set off on a thrilling and often dangerous mission in space...and then their series was cancelled! Now, twenty years later, aliens under attack have mistaken the Galaxy Quest television transmissions for "historical documents" and beam up the crew of has-been actors to save the universe. With no script, no director and no clue, the actors must turn in the performances of their lives.

SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?
From my favorite movies..
An absolute waste of money
It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
This is the kind of films that are missing today. Family oriented yet smart and hugely entertaining. Galaxy Quest is about a cast of a space opera television series- long past their prime, who get abducted by aliens who happen to be a huge fan of their show. Revealing anything else would be spoiling the fun but this is a must watch for fans who love anything science fiction or comedy. Also look at that star cast. 8/10 (Sweet Sigourney never looked hotter; Allen and the tragically departed Rickman never funnier).
"Galaxy Quest" is now one of those movies that's become a cult classic as it's a nice blend between comedy and sci-fi and it entertains with laughs and drama. And the cast had great chemistry as it's all star with Tim Allen, Alan Rickman, Sam Rockwell, and the sexy and beautiful Sigourney Weaver. As all are part of a space TV cast and all of a sudden the game gets real as they fight against real aliens it's a battle to defend earth. It's a fun game of laughs and trying to outsmart each other with wit. And sex appeal is provided with the Weaver character(as she sports a bust and can be seen wearing a sexy silk red or maroon colored bra.) Overall good film to watch for fun it doesn't take things to serious while entertaining and providing laughs and fun entertainment!
This genial Star Trek spoof follows the cast of an old, Star-Trek-inspired sci-fi series as they go from dealing with nerdy fans at sci-fi conventions to, much to their surprise, going on a real-life sci-fi adventure. The idea is very clever, the cast is excellent, and the movie does a great job of tweaking its inspiration and action movies in general (I loved when Sigourney Weaver goes off on a particularly improbable obstacle). While this is a comedy, it takes the action-sci-fi parts, offering a nifty rock monster and some decent space fighting.Very funny and highly recommended.
Two Star Trek movies and this are in my list of movies I'd give an 11 if I could. I like a good spoof and this is a great spoof. It has an excellent cast, good FX, a great story AND the funny is out of this world. This is a decent space opera and just absolutely hilarious. I can watch this every year.
