Fantastic Four (2005)

It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.

A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

I was sad that the critical reviews made this series such a difficult one to carry through. The cast is immensely likeable and the sequel was even better than the opener, which basically explained how it all started. Of course it didn't help that Chris Evans got dragged away to become a very successful Captain America. Like some other commentators, I suspect these two films will stand the test of time much better than many other superhero movies.

I loved this movie from start to finish. If you are a fan of the fantastic four you have come to the right place. Ioan Grufford, Chris Evens, Julian (whatever his last name is), Jessica, and Micheal Chailk were really good as their roles in this movie. The jokes were funny my favorite sense was Johnny Storm puts whip cream on Ben's hand when he is asleep and when he wakes up Splat! the cream goes on his face and The Thing yells "JOHNNNY!" Okay, I have to admit I found The Human Torch annoying at the start of the film but when I found out it was Chris Evens who is Captain America in MCU I was like why was I angry with Captain America.

A group of astronauts gain superpowers after a cosmic radiation exposure and must use them to oppose the plans of their enemy, Doctor Victor Von Doom. The 2nd attempt out of the 4 Fantastic Four films did not perform as everyone was expecting the movie was heavily criticized by both fans and especially critics. Now is the movie bad? Not really but is it some kind of underrated masterpiece? No it's not what i actually like the most about The Fantastic 4 or at least this version of it it's the cast i really love Michael Chiklis as The Thing, Chris Evans is perfect as Johnny Storm, Jessica Alba as Sue is really good and of course Ioan Gruffudd makes a pretty good Mr. Fantastic and i even enjoyed the performance of Julian McMahon i think he did a great job as Dr. Doom and it's 50 times more closer to it's source material both as a character and as a costume it looks way better than whatever the hell that was in 2015's reboot. Kerry Washington as Alicia also brings some drama or at least some moments of it and it shows that love shouldn't been judged by looks or anything, the action although there isn't very much it was handled quite good especially the final battle with Dr. Doom and i loved the Supernova moment or when Ben and Reed turned Victor into an ice cube. Now as for flaws? The film needed more action in my opinion i understand that their trying to find a cure for their "illness" but at the same time it's a Marvel film about Superheroes shouldn't it have more Fantastic Moments? Also some of the CGI don't hold up that well especially the Mr. Fantastic moments they look pretty cheesy to be honest but overall i enjoyed the performances, the characters, the action although it was limited and the humor was pretty clever especially the moments between Ben and Johnny were always great. Overall this film won't turn into a Classic in the following decades and it sure as hell wasn't made to win any Oscars but if i had to choose between this film, the 1994 one and the 2015 one? This one? is at least watchable and it's probably the best thing we'll ever get to a good Fantastic Four Movie. (8/10)

In my humble opinion this is one of the best Marvel movies I have seen. It just seems to capture the Fantastic Four exactly how I remember them from the comics.All the main characters Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm are pretty much perfect. Jessica Alba as Sue Storm is brilliant and Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm stands out as just about the perfect 'Thing'.The only downside for me was Victor Von Doom who just wasn't evil enough and missed what the comics showed him to be.However I thought the movie was great with some pretty impressive special effects.
